Blah Blah Blah

Ok, today was a fun day at work, except for dealing with guests part. SO many rude people!

Where to begin?

1: Guest wants to return something, but only has a gift receipt. You'd think they'd be happy. Wrong. When we offered the giftcard back, they flipped out. They wanted cash back. Keep in mind that this is a ~$100 item, and they didn't originally purchase it. So we explained to them numerous times that it says ON THE GIFT RECEIPT that you would get a giftcard back if you returned something off the receipt. The woman kept asking, "So you're telling me, that if I purchase gifts here and they want to return them, they can't get their money back?" No, you do get your money back, but it's in the form of a giftcard. We kept telling them this but they didn't understand. They finally asked for a manager, and the LOD came up. They were arguing back and forth, and finally the woman accepted the giftcard. Then, she tried to argue with us when it would expire. We told it wouldn't ever expire, so she couldn't argue with that. Her husband kept saying that Wal-Mart would give cash back with a gift receipt, and we didn't believe it. I didn't know Wal-Mart offered gift receipts, but I'm not in there often enough to know.

2. A group of 'daddy's little angel' girls came up to GS, and one had a return. So I do it, and I put it back onto the Visa that was used. The girl wanted cash back. I told her the only thing I could do was either put it back onto the Visa, or on a giftcard. Her and her friends all said they've been in before, and got cash back with a credit card. I told them that person shouldn't be doing that, and I wasn't going to. So, they wanted it on the giftcard, and I had to call a GSTL to void the other return onto the Visa. So when the GSTL gets up there, the start arguing again, but this GSTL is brand new, and doesn't know her way out of a paper bag, so she just told them to listen to me. So, I put it on the giftcard, and send them off. And of course, I hear them talking about how they could all get cash back. Oh well, not on my watch.

3. I brought returns back to a department, and on the way back up, I walked by infants. I hear this guy calling for his wife, and then he is screaming, "HEY! HEY! HEY YOU!" First of all, an excuse me would've done the trick. So I go over there, and this guy was just a total asshole. He starts by saying, "Do you know anything about these?" in a rude tone. I didn't know wha the was talking about, so I assumed anything in infants, and I said, "No." Then, "Well, can you get someone who DOES know what their doing?" I say, "Fine," and walk over to the fitting room and have them send someone over. Jeez people have some freakin' manners!

4. Another time when I brought back returns to a department, I was walking ,and this woman stops me. She needs help getting Xmas lights off the top shelf. This would be fine if we were in seasonal, but we were on the other side of the freakin' store! So, I ask her if she wants to come with me, and show me which ones she wants. Nope! She says, "They are the only green ones on the top shelf." So, I had to walk to the other side of the store, get her stupid lights, walk all the way back, and walk back to go where I was going originally. People are getting lazier by the minute. Pretty soon Target's will have a gigantic room with sofas and TVs where Lazies can sit, and they can send a Target TM with a camera attached to them to get their shopping done. Oh, and of course yell at them, when they learn Target TMs can't read their minds.

5. There was this woman who bought something, and it went on sale in the 2-day ad. So she got the adjustment on Saturday. Well, today she *shows me her receipt* and asks if she buys more of the same thing for the sale price. I say no obviously because you would have to buy it during those 2 days to get the sale price. She said, "Well they told me that if I had a receipt that showed I got it at this price, I could get more for that price within 14 days." Someone put their own stinky spin on our policy, and it wasn't a TM. So, I told her we couldn't and she seemed OK with it. She was just testing me to see if I was stupid enough to take the bait. C'mon now, give me some credit!

It was just an all around nasty guest day today.
