Holy Shit! It was SO mother fucking busy yesterday! We had more than 20 of our 32 lanes open and we still needed back-up cashiers. The salesfloor was a complete mess, and when I left at 9:30 pm, they didn't even begin to zone because they were still putting away returns. I don't even want to think about what time they got out, but they were aiming for 11:30. And usually we are there for up to an hour after their estimate. Yuck.
The Canadians didn't help. Apparently NOW is their spring break, and most businesses in Canada are closed this weekend, so ALL of them are down here. It is so bad. When I get my degree from my university I am moving far from the US-Canadian border just so I don't have to deal with Canadians. I wish you could all work in my store for a month, then you could see where I'm coming from.
I got yelled at so many times because we were out of things because it was so damn busy. It was busier than any day before Christmas with the exception of the day after Thanksgiving. Spring is also a time where Target cuts hours, so there was minimal coverage the whole day. It was a nightmare. There was this one woman who was bitching that we didn't have any mini-Cadbury eggs, and she wanted to know why. So I told her, "We have been busy the whole day today, so we are out of a lot of things." And also that it was 2 days before Easter, you fucking retard!
Towards the end of the night it slowed down some, but it was still steady. I was sent to help the floor with returns, and of course I had to help Nancy. I did one cart, and then she told me to do her 2 that she already had sitting there. But, luckily I got called up for a back-up and that lasted until I had to leave.
What sucks is that it is going to be so much more busy today than yesterday. This is not a good thing. I don't think it is even possible to have it be busier without having a lot more people working. I close Guest Service with Sara, so that should be fun. I hear GS didn't catch up until 7:30 last night, so that's even more great news. I seriously hate Canadians. Not so much as people, but as customers. They treat everyone like crap, mess up the store, and are completely rude in the meantime. Why oh why do they have to ruin every single one of our holidays!? I can't wait to get away from this place just so I can escape being in the same room as a Canadian. I feel bad for saying this, but after working even one shift on the weekend, I know where it's coming from.
I hope to God today goes well. At least we get tomorrow off. I'm sure we'll hear plenty of bitching because of it today too. Oh well, bring it on.
I don't think I can make it through today. Augh!
