It's About Time

So I got to work yesterday, and checked to make sure I was on lane 30, so I would have ample reason to be angry. Indeed I was, so I went to take my survey on what I think about my store and Target in general. Haha! I'm such an evil asshole! I let them have it. What do they expect when they run around and treat everyone like shit? A fucking Good Job sticker?

So after that, I found the head cashier. It was Karen. Just fucking great. This is how the conversation went:
Me: "Can I do something else?"
Karen: "Well, what are you supposed to be doing?"
M: "Well, I'm supposed to be on lane 30, but you guys always put me on that lane and I'm sick of it."
K: "Don't say you guys, I didn't make the lane schedule today."
M: "Well, you guys know I hate that lane, and you still put me on it every time."
K: "I didn't know you hated it down there, I'll make a note of it in the office, but you have to be on that lane every once in a while."
M: "I understand that, but every single day is another thing."

Then she told me to do hangers. I gave her this look like how the fuck is that going to last my whole shift, and she said to find her when I'm done, and she'll see what else I can do. I ended up doing returns the whole night. Thank fucking God! I think some of the other cashiers were pissed at me because I wasn't cashiering, but I don't care. When they are on that lane for pretty much every shift they have, then they can get pissed at me.

And when I say that lane, I'm generalizing it with all the shitty lanes down there, or pretty much lanes 28-31. Ask anyone, those lanes take a lot out of you. And being on that lane for a whole shift, only to do more work after the store closes drains you pretty fucking bad. And of course you can't go home because you are expected to be a robot.

The floor was a fucking mess last night. Oh my fucking God! There are 3 aisles of clearance in Domestics, and they were completely trashed. There was shit all over the floor. Thank God I didn't have to do it. We got out at 11:10. It fucking sucked.

Well, I'm going to enjoy my 2 days off (today and tomorrow) and will enjoy working 6 days in a row starting on Tuesday. What a great spring break! 4 of those are Guest Service though, so it's not all that bad. But I close Friday and Saturday. Damn I hate closing!

Ugh. My store doesn't seem too bad to work for as yours. But...I would LOVE to get out at 11:10. Last Saturday it was 12:15 and last night it was 11:45. Even on weekdays its like that. Tonight, a SUNDAY, when the store closes at NINE...they were "hoping to get out by midnight."

I got my schedule for the "week ending March 26." I have two days where I'm scheduled to work at 4. Well, I can't work until 5. At least they changed it. But they were evil: they scheduled me 4-10 at Guest Services and then 10-11 cashier. That means I have to stay and help until they are done with the WHOLE store. UGH!

They haven't let me take the survey yet. I asked to take it and they said no I couldn't. Wait till I get my hands on it..... hehe.

One guest yelled at me because her credit card was not approved. She started voiding things one at a time and then finally it took the card. She must have been very near her limit. So then she tried to buy one item back (less than $3) and it was not approved. I "should have left that on the first transaction." (She TOLD me to take it off! ...and once the card goes in its a done deal and I cant fix it anyways.)

One guest came out to the American West to the Target where I work from Long Island, NY. She comes here to shop at Target, apparently, because she had several reciepts I had to try for an item she was returning. So I ended up doing a no reciept transaction, and since it was less than $10 she could get a Target gift card. She says that the Target in Brooklyn is over two hours from her. ..... so then...how long did it take to get to MY Target???

Languages I should have been fluent in today to provide great guest service:
Braille
American Sign Language
Spanish
Bosnian
Portuguese
and who knows what else!
