Random

Well, there hasn't been that much happening lately. Cashiering sucks still.

On Friday I worked GS and I closed. The only major thing I remember was that Becky (aka dike w/ Dawn) bitched me out because of an overflowing cart. She said, "If a cart is full like this, call the department, and replace it with an empty cart." Excuse me, but fuck you! I was the only one there, and that department came up when I called them the first 500 times, then they wouldn't have to worry about a fucking overflowing cart. I don't call departments for no fucking reason, when I call, I have a full cart for you. And yeah, maybe I would have got another cart if there was no one in the fucking store and I had nothing to do, but I was by myself and it was busy. Getting a new cart is the least of my worries, that's your god damn job.

Saturday I was on lane 24. It was so busy, but it went by kinda fast. I had a short shift, so after I went over to Food Ave and helped them ring people up for about 2-3 hours. It was fun, but damn a lot of people order drinks, and I definitely see how it gets annoying when you are trying to do something.

Someone also took my next Tuesday shift of 5-9:30 cashiering. Thank the fucking lord! I have multiple tests to study for, and working is the last of my concerns.

Next up is Thursday in GS 4-close. I wasn't supposed to work, but Maggie asked me, and I said yes. Stupid, huh? Then I work Friday 5-close cashiering, and oh boy will that be fun! Then on Saturday I work 2-9:30 in GS, and that should be fun. Weekends bring out the worst in people. Sunday I have off, and good thing because FAMILY GUY comes back! I'm so excited!

Watch it! Sunday 9pm eastern/8pm central on FOX.

That cunt was also fixed on being the exception, she told us that if she was a staff member of Target, she would be able to exchange it. We kept telling her no, but she wouldn't listen. If a team member were in this situation and bitching at me, I would have scolded them because they ought to know the return policy.

A friend also told me a story of another bitchy person that went through Heidi's (I sense a trend...haha) lane. Apparently something rang up "wrong" and the woman flipped out. She wanted Heidi to fix it right then and there, but Heidi told her she had to go to Guest Service. The woman bitched on and on about how she didn't have time for that, and insisted to see the ad. Heidi showed it to her, and the sale was for a completely different brand. But, the lady still insisted it was marked on sale, and scolded Heidi saying, "You scanned things too fast, so I couldn't check the prices as you rang them up. They should have older people ringing things up because they know how to do it." Heidi told her we DO get timed and we are expected to be quick on every transaction. The woman said, "I doubt it." Then Maggie walked by, and they just did a Fix It Fast, and the bitch was on her way. She shouldn't have gotten her way with an attitude like that. I don't care if you are right, there is no reason for you to treat me like shit.

It seems like Heidi and I attract all the bitchy people regardless of where we are in the store.

The same friend told me another story about Sara. Well, Kim T. And Shelly (Team Leads, mind you) were in Toys and Domestics respectively, but decided to help decorate the break room for the new "Can I help you find something?" plan. Stupid, but whatever. Apparently they spent 4 hours working on a sign. Yeah, 4 hours. So, Sara volunteered to do their returns. When she was done with those, Shelly told her to start on her pulls (shit from the backroom that needs to go on shelves) and Sara told her no. She, like everyone else in the store, is sick of the Team Leads not doing their fucking jobs. But of course Sara got bitched out because of her "attitude" and Sharon even said to her, "You should be lucky you still work here." If Sharon would have said that to me, I would have fucking punched her in her nuts. I already vowed that I would never help Nancy again because she is the worst. She walks around all fucking day, doesn't do a damn thing, and everyone HAS to help her at the end of the night. Well, not me. They can fucking fire me, I really don't give a shit anymore. I refuse to help her when she just pawns her shit off on us. So, basically she gets a paycheck for doing nothing, and instead we should get her pay because we do all the work. Well, that's the Team Leads for you. Fucking losers!

Well, tomorrow is 5-9:30 cashiering...Hip hip Hooray!...This is gonna suck!

Worst Guest EVER!

Ok, I have seen more than enough rude people since I've started working with Target. But just yesterday, I experienced one of the worst.

It all started when she came up to the desk. Heidi and I were working, but this lady came up to me. She had a defective digital camera (around $300) and wanted to exchange it. Well, she didn't have the box, so I told her to see if we carried the same thing in electronics. So she went over there, that's when I look at the receipt and see that it is well over our 90 day return policy. She had purchased it in November. So, it had almost been 3 months since the receipt expired. Well, she comes back with the same camera, and we tell her that her receipt is expired, an that we would have to process it as a no-receipt exchange. Due to the large value of the item, our computer system told us to call for authorization. Heidi pretty much dealt with her from then on, and I jumped in at necessary places. So, Heidi calls authorization, and explains the situation to them. She said that we have a guest here who has a defective camera and would like to exchange it for the exact same thing, but had an expired receipt. They told Heidi that since there was an expired receipt, that she wouldn't give her an authorization code. Heidi told this to the woman, and she flipped ass. She started pissing and moaning because "she was from Canada" and deserved to be an exception because she lived 3 hours away. And where she lives is only 2 hours away, I've been there. She screamed that Heidi should call them back and explain that she doesn't get down here often, and so she is an exception. She kept saying, "There's an exception to every rule." She just wouldn't shut up. Heidi and I told her she was not an exception because of where she lived, and there was nothing we could do for her. She had a year warranty through FUJI and would have to go through them to get her issue solved. She said she had already contacted Fuji and they said she would have to send the camera in at her own expense to get it fixed. Well, she wasn't having any of it. We also gave her a Guest Relations card with a number for her to call. She called it right then and there. But, since it was Saturday they were closed. So, we told her to call again on Monday, but she said she would be back in Canada then. We told her over and over again that she could call from Canada, but she insisted that she knew she would be an exception and would be able to exchange it and didn't want to have to come down here again on Monday. We told her even if they did allow it, they would not send you back to the store, but there was no chance in hell that they would allow it. By that time Heidi and I were getting so pissed off at her pig-headedness that we had Maggie come up and talk to her. Well, Maggie went through the same motions as Heidi, called for authorization, and again was told no. She said she wasn't taking no for an answer, and told us our options were to give her money back, or exchange the camera. We all told her this was not possible, as our computers would not allow it and that no one in the store would override it. She put on this shit story of how she works in the media up in Canada, and that there was always a way around what can be done. She also said when she gets back, she was going to write a article comparing Target's and Wal-mart's return policy, and "would make sure everyone knew how horrible Target is." Go right ahead you fucking cunt! She also mentioned that if she would have bought this camera in Canada, she would have a year to return it. Yeah right. And she also said that Wal-mart would take it back. Maggie told her that this wasn't Wal-mart or another store, she was in Target, and we have a policy to follow. Maggie even told her, "I'm sure you know how computers work right? Well, then you know how we can't bypass this screen unless they give us an authorization code, and they will not give me one." She kept yelling and whatnot so Maggie called the authorization center, and had the evil bitch talk to her. She was on the phone for the longest time arguing back and for what she had already said to us. Then, after that conversation, she started bitching how Target should pay for the shipping of the camera. We told her no, that it was her camera, and her responsibility. She also said she couldn't be without the camera for a few weeks. But, we found that funny because she kept telling us the camera was defective before the 90 days was up, and so she had already been without a working one for a few months. She also said that it stopped working before the 90 days was up, so she should still be covered in our return policy. We told her that is doesn't matter when the item went defective, but that you needed to bring it in within the 90 days in order for us to do anything. She eventually left, and she had been arguing with us for over an hour and a half.

Now you can see why we all hate Canadians. They think, 'Oh just because I live far away, that I'm an exception to the expiration date of the receipt.' Well, I used to live an hour an a half away from where I am now (NOT IN CANADA!) and we only made into Target at most 4 times a year. The thing is, if you had a $300 camera that was defective, why wouldn't you make a special trip for that amount of money? Don't assume that you will be able to get around policy just because you are a Canadian. If it were up to me, I would have stricter policies for the Canadians because most have the shittiest attitude ever. I hope that cunt does write an article because I'm going to keep a close watch on the media in that city, and I'd be more than happy to respond. If I find anything I'll keep you updated. My guess is that she won't write anything, but she just used it as a 'scare tactic' for us to give her what she wanted. I hope that bitch rots in Hell.

Maggie and I were talking after she left, and we only wished she would used swear words because then we could have had her kicked out of the store. We also told security to watch for her in case she came back.

We also heard another "but I'm from Canada" excuse, and we were all really sick of it. I don't give a shit where the fuck you are from, the policy still stands! Everytime I hear this excuse I cringe, and one of these days I will explode, and tell them that excuse doesn't mean shit. We have the same policy for everyone regardless of where you live. If you don't like it, tough shit! Stay out of Target then, do us all a favor!

We also heard "I got this for Christmas" a lot today. What the fuck!? It has been 4 months since Christmas, why are people still returning gifts? And some things we don't even carry anymore, so there was nothing we could do. Oh well.

Thank God I have today off. I don't work until Thursday, but I do need a break because of that cunt. Oh my fucking God, I'm sure I left out something, so when I remember it, I'll tell you.

Update

Well, it has been a few shifts since my last post, but there wasn't a whole lot of new stuff to report.

While cashiering on Wednesday, there was this one woman who came through my lane, and she said she had a $20 credit for the store. I ask her what she means, and she apparently returned something and "didn't get anything" from the employee. Riiiight. Well, she wanted me to give her a $20 discount because she didn't get anything. I told her, Target does not credit on file for guests. When someone makes a return, you either get cash, a giftcard, or a receipt that says your card has been credited. I think this lady was just clueless.

Then, on Friday I picked up a shift to train in Food Ave. I worked 5-9 and it was fun. It was pretty dead though, so we just goofed off the whole time.

I was in Guest Service on Saturday from 2-close. There was only one really stupid person. She wanted to return a shirt she bought a YEAR ago, but she still had her receipt. And she was PISSED that she couldn't! She thought that just because she had her receipt, that she should be able to return it. And the shirt wasn't in our system, so there was nothing we could do. She bitched and bitched and bitched. After telling her our return policy a few times, she finally got it and left.

Then on Sunday it was SO dead and boring. It felt like forever to finish a 6 hour cashiering shift. Then there was this one guy who said to his family while I was standing out, "Let's go to this lane, they are ready to serve us." AUGH! I hate the word 'serve'. It pisses me off. I don't 'serve' anyone.

Well, now I don't work until Friday. 4 days off in a row, must be a new record. Where are all of the commenters?

Tuesday, Tuesday

Well, it was extremely dead during most parts of the day on Tuesday. We did have rushes though. It constantly changed from very busy to very dead, and back again. We were short-staffed as usual for this time of year. Pisses me of, but that's another post.

Anyway, there was this one really rude woman. She wanted to return a pair of maternity pants. First off, there was no tags, so I sent her back to get the same thing, so I could have some numbers to use for the return. When she got back, I ask her how she paid for it, and she said with a check, so I tried looking up her receipt with that. No go. So then I tell her since the item is over $10, she has to exchange it for one item from the maternity department for equal or greater value. Well, she wasn't having any of it and was challenging every single word out of my mouth. "Why can't I get store credit?" Because it's our policy. "Why does it have to be in the same department?" Because it's our policy. "Why is it only 1 item? Why does it have to be equal or greater value?" Because it's our policy! As you can see I found her annoying rather quickly, and that she was holding up the line while I was the only one there. She then asked, if she exchanged it, could she get store credit since she would have a receipt. I told her no, because on the receipt it would say "no receipt indicated" and that the employees would know she would have to exchange it once again. She finally asked for a manger, and I was more than happy to get her out of my face. When the manager came up she argued back and forth with him too, only to get told the same thing. She went back and found something else, then exchanged, and left. Somehow, I think she'll be back to try to return it.

Today I work 3-7:45 cashiering, but hopefully it goes by quickly. Augh! I hate cashiering!

Canadian Spring Break: Day 5

Sunday sucked. Easter shit was 90% off, and I had this one woman fill up an entire cart with shit. It was only like $30 though.

I worked 12:45-7 cashiering. On lane 29. Oh yeah, it sucked. But the good news is all of the Canadians are going home! Woo Fucking Hoo! Damn get out the drinks! We survived!

The only major problem I had was that my computer froze while I was ringing up someone. The lady behind her had a full cart of shit, but it was already all on the belt. Hehe! She was SO pissed that she had to put everything back into her cart, and go to another lane. Yeah, please get mad at me because I crashed my own computer. The woman I was helping got pissed too because we had to rering everything she had. It was only 3 bags worth, but she saw it as an hour long process or something. It only took the same amount of time as it normally would've if I rang her up. Oh well, at least I got off 29 for a while.

Tomorrow I picked up Becky's shift (because she quit) in GS from 4-8. Not bad, although I don't think Phyllis will show up, so they will make me close. But, I can't so haha.

A lot of people are quitting the ol' shitbin. Gee, I wonder why? Oh, that's right because it sucks.

I should run an updated list of people in GS because a few have left, and some have transferred to a different department within our same store. Jackie has a shift in GS on Saturday, so we will see how that goes. She seems pretty fun to work with. I close with Melissa that night, so it shouldn't be that bad. Jesse is also leaving within the next 3 months or so, so another one bites the dust. Damn, pretty soon I'll be one of the oldest (aka person that's been there the longest) one there. Except for Sara and Heidi. Damn, I am a Target veteran. I could easily be the oldest (see explanation listed previously) cashier anyday. Hopefully by next fall, I'll be moving, and then I can get out of Target then, if not sooner. And I mean NEXT fall, as in not this fall. Yeah, it scares me too.

Canadian Spring Break: Day 2, 3, & 4

Day 2: Jack of all trades, master of 2.

Well, Thursday wasn't too bad. I ran around and did a lot of shit that day, hence the description above. So I was cashiering on lane 5. Not so bad, then I also got put over in Food Ave because they were busy. I ran the register, and it was only my 2nd time doing it, so people (mostly Canadians) were getting pissy because I was taking "too long." Whatever. It was fun though.
Then I also gave the operator a break. It was easy for the most part because I didn't take many calls. But then there was this one. The guy on the phone asked to speak with the STORE team lead aka everyone's boss. I tell him "sure" and go to transfer the call. Well, I missed a button, and so I messed everything up. I figured out how to get the guy back, and then I did it right. I was just thinking that the guy on the phone probably told him that I was a retard or something. Haha oh well.
I also gave Sara her break at GS, which was nice. It was kinda dead, so I just stood there. Then, I went back to cashiering. So, I was the jack of all trades, but a master of 2 (cashiering and GS).

Day 3: Longer

Originally I was supposed to work 2-8:30 in GS and Krista would close, but Maggie was the head cashier and hurt her shoulder, so she switched with Krista, and then I stayed until 10 so Maggie could go home.
On to the guests. There was this guy who had his statements for his Target cards. Well, he wanted to know if he could charge on his card only using his statement. I tell him no, that we need the actual card in order to use it. The guy totally flipped out saying how he's done it here before and blah blah blah. Maggie and I just kept telling him he couldn't. Then he says, "Well then I'll just go to (and he yelled this part) WAL-MART because they let me do it there!" Ok, see ya later, bye!

Day 4: Out of it

I was supposed to cashier 12-7:15 today, but I got out of it. I was supposed to be on lane 7, but lane 6 crashed so the person that was on 6 was now on 7. So, Sharon told me to bag, which I did for about an hour or so, then I just did random things. Then, after my first break, Sharon sent me to the fitting room to do returns. Oh my fucking god. I was running around the whole clothes area putting things back. Wow, there went 5 hours of my life I can't get back. I was SO tired after all of it, and still kinda am. Oh well, it sure beats cashiering and dealing with idiotic Canadians.

Well, tomorrow should wrap up the Canadian spring break HOPEFULLY. I cashier 12:45-7, but hopefully it should go well. I think pretty much every employee in my store hates Canadians. They are such rude, dumb, and messy pigs. I can't believe how 'Canadian' they are. It disgusts me.
