Last Weekend

Well, I guess I better update you on the BUSY weekend we just had. Sorry it has been a few days, my computer eats paint chips.

On Friday, I went in at 5am to get cards. No one is standing in line at 5. Then, Christine and I went out there to stand, and I let her ask the first few people just because I was kinda invading her job. But, around 5:05am or so, a small group started to line up and other people walked up and saw that we didn't open until 6am and so they left. Well, I got the first 2 cards, and then Christine got one, and I went back outside and I got FOUR in a row! It was awesome! While one person was filling one out, I moved down the line until I ran out of clipboards. That was fun typing them in though, I recruited other people to help me. Then it was about 5:50, and I went back outside to tell them if they were approved or not. Well, in the group of 4, I could only find 2 because they must have went to the other door or something. So then I just started walking around asking more people. At about 5 minutes to 6, there was a BIG group of people that budged in front of everyone else, so everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) behind them started booing and yelling, and then they all bum rushed the doors. At that point I was thinking, "I'm getting the fuck back inside before I get trampled." Thank GOD we have our own TM door or else I would have been killed. But, I got a total of 9 cards that day which is an all time high for me. If was funny because I got 6 from outside and Christine only got 2 outside. She ended up with 20 cards, but then again she was asking all day on the floor. I'm more than satisfied with my 9.

Guests weren't that big of a deal, but the whole weekend we spent most of our time doing adjustments, credit card payments, and paging people. Our forecast for Friday was $525,000 and we got $623,000. Almost $100K over goal, so that just shows how busy we were.

But what would a weekend be without a dumbass Canadian? So one comes up to GS, and asks for a comment card. So I give her one, and she asks me, "What's your policy about taking Canadian coins?" I tell her that our banks don't take them, so we can't. Guess what she says...? "Well they take them in Canada." NO FUCKING SHIT! It's Canadian currency, they better fucking take it in Canada! I swear, they are put on this Earth to test me, and make me laugh most of the time.

Thank god I didn't have to close this weekend either. I fucking hate closing with a passion. But, I got severely sleep deprived because I got up at 4am Friday, 7:30am Saturday and 11am Sunday. That may not sound bad but total for those 3 days I got about 15 hours of sleep.

Well, lucky me I get to work tonight! 3:30-close! Oh I fucking hate it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday was interesting...to say the least.

The first guest I help is returning a toy. When I ask her if there was anything wrong with it, the shit hits the fan. She starts spouting off about how she sent an e-mail to Target, and that she won't be doing anymore shopping at Target because I guess we aren't saying Merry Christmas. I haven't heard a thing from anyone about not saying Merry Christmas. I so badly wanted to argue with her, but she was a feisty bitch, so I just did the return and let her leave.

But come fucking on people! No one is bashing Christmas when they say happy holidays! Target still sells Christmas shit! How would you feel if you were Jewish, and every place you went told you to have a Merry Christmas!? Christmas is a holiday, and is included in the happy holidays greeting. It's really not that big of a deal. But, if you aren't going to shop somewhere because they don't bow down to your and only your religion, then I feel sorry for you. Show some damn consideration for others. Christianity is not the center of the universe so get over yourself. If someone wishes me a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, or any other holiday greeting, I say "Thanks, you too." No one is trying to convert you to their religion, they are just wishing you a happy holiday season.

We also got a call from this woman who heard that the first 100 people in the store on Friday get a $100 giftcard. Uh no.

We were done at midnight, but Phyllis and I were putting up the 2 day sale ad and so we were pretty much the last ones to leave.

I'm so excited to work tomorrow! I'm going in at 5am to get my own cards, and I'll get to see the rush in the doors. It'll be a 9 hour day for me!

Everyone have a good Thanksgiving and a happy holiday season!

Horrible

Saturday sucked. More so than usual. Thank fucking god I did ad Friday night or we would have been that much more behind. It was a mess the whole fucking night and I was irritated the whole day.

All of the newbies don't do shit. Whenever they aren't helping guests, they just stand there. There is plenty of to do. From now on, I'm going to bring it up with them, and if they still suck, I'm gonna try to get them out of Guest Service. We have enough lazies up there as it is, we don't need more.

So the newbies not doing anything pissed me off, and that was just the beginning. It was fucking busy and there were people everywhere. By the end of the night we had $311,000 in sales. It was a disaster. We had Guest Service relatively clean until about 9pm. We tried to do our closing duties but we either were busy with guests or one of us got pulled out to cashier. It was me and Phyllis and thank god because a newbie would have only made things worse. Salesfloor people kept bringing shit up and put it all over the counter so that it looked like a fucking pig sty. And then more brought up cartfulls. So we were trying to sort it while helping guests, and then Bridget brings up this basket full of cosmetic defectives. We couldn't fucking do it because we were already behind and doing all of those would have taken a good half hour. So Phyllis and I sort all of the abandoned shit and take the carts out of Guest Service and shut the door so no more people could come back there. They could sort their own stuff. So the store closed soon after. Well, the only thing we had done Guest Service-wise was that I did the paid and left at 7pm (really early) and got binders from the lanes for the ad.

So I'm still trying to sort through the mess that people are still bringing up, and putting the new ads in the binders. This bitch walks in the exit doors at 10:10pm. Mind you we closed at 10, but there were still people checking out. Well, she comes to Guest Service and says she wants 10% off. We thought she already applied for the card and just wanted us to apply it to her receipt. Nope, she didn't even apply yet. Well, she was approved and we had to do a fix it fast, and we keep the old receipt. She wasn't having any of it. She still wanted the old voided receipt because she said her husband was picky about receipts. Boo hoo. I told her we absolutely have to keep the receipt, so she put up a big stink and I went to photocopy it for her. That was at 10:30. The bitch finally leaves around 10:40pm, 40 minutes after the store fucking closed.

So Phyllis and I went into turbo mode and brought binders back to the lanes, hung ad, put the ad in the kiosks, closed the GS registers, brought the media to the head cashier office, and recorded the target cards in the book. It was a nightmare.

Well, after I get done with the GS shit, Sharon makes me disassemble the sale signs. That took for fucking ever, and then I had to go put them away. Well, by the time I was done they had already sent everyone home and so I punched out at 11:30pm. Yuck.

Now the store is open until 11pm every night until the day after Christmas, so I'm positive that will suck major ass.

Phyllis and I were talking about how the newbies get all the mid-day GS shifts and never have to close at GS. I kinda bitched out Sharon saying that it wasn't fair and they would have to learn it eventually or else they shouldn't get shifts up there. Why should I be doing all the closing and not get any good shifts? It's total bullshit. Well, Sharon said she would make a note about it.

Phyllis was also talking about how the veterans (veterans vs. newbies of GS) get scheduled cashiering when a newbie is at GS. That's not fair either. The head cashiers told her it had to do with her availability but she called them out because she had the same exact shift as the person in GS. It better not fucking happen to me or I will bitch and not go in that day. No fucking way. I'm expecting ALL GS shifts until January. I'm too much of an asset to GS to be cashiering.

Then, you know how I wanted to come in early for the day after Thanksgiving to get people to sign up for cards? Well, I come in at 5:30am, but that's not the problem. Christine is scheduled at 5am to do the same thing. So she'll already have a 30 minute advantage. She asked me on Saturday if I was going outside to ask for cards, or staying inside to enter hers? Uh no bitch! I'll be right outside with you! I'm gonna bitch to the head cashier on Wednesday because that's not fair that she gets a half hour start on me. I actually wanted to get cards and that's the only reason I volunteered. If they think I'm coming in to type in cards for Christine, then I'll see them at 6am. I don't do bitch work. She can type in her own god damn cards. It's just not fair for me coming in at 5:30 and Christine has already asked everyone that's there, so my only chance is with the people that get there more towards opening. It just really pisses me off. That can make my whole day rotten if I get only a few and Christine gets billions. Fuck her.

Well, my next shift is Wednesday and surprise surprise I'm working 4:30 to close! And we're closing at 11pm so that will suck. And Lona is there until 9, but I don't think I'll be able to put out ads until later. Also, I have to put up the 2-day ad, and that will be tough because I have to keep the week's ad up too. I've heard everyone that put it up was there late and all the salesfloor people left before they were even done. I have no idea how I am going to do this because the adboard will be full and so I'll have to tape the new one up. It'll probably look like shit.

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving, but not working Wednesday night or Fri-Sat-Sun. 8.5 hour days...kill me now!

Not In The Mood

Well, I just drove by Target, and there was 3 buses dropping off Canadians right in front of the doors. I flicked them off. Go home already.

I swear to God, if one Canadian pulls the 'but I'm from Canada' card, I will tell them straight out that it isn't an excuse and we have the same return policy for everyone regardless of where one chooses to reside. I'm so pumped up to yell at someone.

They better not ask if we exchange money either. I swear, there is usually a line of a few Canadians and they each ask if we exchange money, and I tell them no, and the person right behind them who clearly heard me asks the same fucking question. I also especially love when they get mad at me because we don't. "Well, you used to." Well we don't anymore fuckface. And then they ask where else exchanges money. A FUCKING BANK!! "Anywhere else? All the banks are closed." Not that I know of, maybe you should exchange your money BEFORE you come down. It's only common sense, but I know most Canadians lack that.

I close and so we'll probably be there until 5am because people are pigs. I'm leaving when I'm done with GS because I feel like it. Tonight is the last night we close at 10pm for a while now. Oh, how I am going to pray for 10pm closing in the next few weeks. I absolutely HATE closing at 11pm, and getting out at midnight at the earliest. Wednesday nights, I'm leaving after I'm done with GS because I have class Thursday morning and school is way more important than Target could ever be.

Well, I'm sure all hell will break loose at the store today and you'll be sure to hear about it.

Guess What?

Even more training!

So I get to work on Wednesday and what do you know? Oh, I'm training 4 people from 6-9. Talk about lack of communication. So I had to plan my whole shift around training. The people I trained were so bored and I probably sounded like a retard. The training book it set up so stupid that it repeats itself over and over. And I'm not too familiar with it, so I just go along reading it, and then I realize it's something we already covered and I stop mid-sentence. I swear to God these people think I'm stupid. Oh well, they're stupid for working at Target. haha zinger!

And then today I worked 2:30-9 cashiering, but I had to buddy train a new cashier from 3-9. It's so bad, but I have a short patience with some situations. I probably don't sound like an asshole, but it seems that way sometimes. I also got to give Tara a break and that was fun because I didn't have anything challenging to do. A cashier didn't know how to do a tax exempt transaction, and another got a target card, so it was pretty easy.

I feel so bad for my readers because I'm sure you all *LOVE* to hear about my boring day. Hell, if there was more rude people more often, you'll be the first to hear about it. The weekend is almost here, and you all know what I say about the weekends: "The weekend bring out the worst in people."

Another thought that crossed my mind (they don't happen often, haha) is that I suddenly realized that guests will play any 'card' they have to get their way. And it's entirely true. I've heard some people get called racist just because we are enforcing the return policy. Another 'card' that gets played a lot in my store is the 'but I'm from Canada card'. Again, playing these 'cards' don't weigh on the situation AT ALL. They are just thrown in for sympathy, but sorry the system doesn't recognize sympathy. Here's 25 cents, call someone who cares.

Well, good news for me is that I don't cashier for a while. People should start getting REALLY bitchy right when holiday shopping starts. They are training like crazy in GS because it means less hours for me, but hey as long as they are all GS I really don't care.

The Black Friday ad leaked for Target on the Internet. Google it or something, it should pop up. A little tip for my readers, BUY THE ITEMS YOU WANT NOW! Then on the 26th or 27th go to Guest Service and get an adjustment. That way you get what you want at a cheaper price. You won't have to deal with worrying if something is out of stock. Buy now, adjust later. It's that easy. You didn't hear it from me. ;)

So, tomorrow it's 5-close GS and Saturday it's 3-close GS. God knows I love closing. This weekend will probably suck too because people will be out buying all their Thanksgiving crap. Well, I guess I better rest up for tomorrow. Fridays are notorious for difficult Canadian returns. Fun fun fun.

Sucky Weekend

Well, this past weekend sucked. At least all of the Canadians are back in their country... now all they have to do is stay there FOREVER. I can't explain how rotten some of these people were; it actually boggles my mind how someone could be so rude. Is it OK to treat people that way in Canada? If so, then why? Riddle me that Canada.

Saturday actually worked out in my favor because I got to work. I was bummed because I had a 8.5 hour day of cashiering in front of me. I get on my lane, help literally 2 people, and Sharon calls me from GS. I'm supposed to go up there. I got to tell Canadians that my lane was closed, but sure enough more people walked in right after I told the previous people. They were so pissed when I told them I was closed. Well sorry asslick, my lane light IS off! I thought I was just going to GS for a back-up because it was really busy. Ashton called in sick, and Amanda told me I was up there for my whole shift! I was ecstatic! Well, when it slowed down I went to Food Ave because they were fucking busy as hell. Always are with Canucks. I don't see what is so good about a little eatery in a fucking Target store, but the way the Canucks react it's like it's the best food ever. Which it is...(looks around for Target spy) Yep...good food at Food Ave. Anyways, it slowed down so I went back to GS, and when that got slow, I helped over at the photo lab. So I was everywhere BUT a lane, and I loved it!

So Sunday I worked 12-8 GS, Ashton worked 12-5, and Lona was scheduled 1-6. Lona has never been trained in GS; she didn't know one thing about GS, and yet she was scheduled at GS for training. Ok, I don't know where you live but Sundays are GS's busiest days because of adjustments/payments/returns from weekend. So I was basically bitching left and right because *I* had to train her because only Ashton and Emily were up there, and they are new to GS too. So I basically bitched out Tara and she must have talked to someone because when Maggie got there, she pulled Lona out of GS and put Jackie up there because it was so busy and it isn't fair to guests that I'm training while there is a long line of people to help. Well, later that day it died down, and I didn't want to come in on Tuesday (my day off) to train new people so I offered to do it right then. The head cashiers discussed and told me to grab Patricia too, and give them both a training. Training went well, but I think they still need more time up there.

Other than that, not much happened. There was a few mean people but nothing so over the top.

There was this one woman who was returning a lamp and something else but didn't have a receipt. Well, we told her it had to be one item from housewares for 34.99 equal or greater value. Well, she's gone for quite some time but GS was getting calls from the floor. The salesfloor TM asks over the walkie, "The guest was told to get an item from housewares, can she get one from domestics?" UH NO! Well, she finally found something and left.

There was this Canadian who wanted to exchange a shirt for a bigger size. Well, she had just bought it a few hours ago but left the receipt at the hotel. So I try checking her credit card, but since it was just that day, it didn't show up. So I tried doing a no-receipt return but I need a driver's license. She didn't have hers on her, but threw a fit. She wasn't with anyone else, so she put on a sob story about how she was just exchanging and that she was leaving at 6am the next day. Boo fucking hoo! You shouldn't even be driving without your fucking driver's license!

Next up is 4:30-close on Wednesday!

Jesus Fucking Christ! (A vent)

I am so stressed out right now. Never have I been yelled at so many times and been so overwhelmed that I needed to leave the building to calm down just a little bit. Seriously, TODAY SUCKED! I would not wish today upon my worst enemy.

I was bitched out by a Canadian because our sheet sets were the same price for any size. She bitched me out because she didn't want to pay the same price for the full size as she did for the queen. I kept telling her that was just how things were priced for that particular item. But no, she kept bitching that "in Canada" (Which by the way I hope gets bombed and everyone dies) the full size was lower than the queen. Yeah, it's like that here too, but for that certain item it's all the same price. She argued with me for 10 minutes and I had enough. I was in a pissed off mood for the rest of the day.

Tara asked me if I was doing OK and I told her that it wasn't. She talked to me and I told her every single person was being an asshole, and I was getting sick of getting yelled at. She told me that I don't get paid enough to get constantly yelled at so if someone was being difficult that I should call her up to GS. But then she got on my case for not getting a Target card. I flipped on her and said that I've been yelled at all day and I didn't want to be yelled at about that too.

The reason why the stupid fucking Canadians that all should die are down here is because everything is closed in their country today. Why would you close down everything for a holiday? Because they are fucking stupid. Some fucktards (that's what I'm referring them to for the rest of the post) said that line at the border was 2 FUCKING HOURS!!!!! Jesus fucking Christ! Are you serious people!? And they all trashed the store and were basically being dumbfucks like they usually are.

I had a Canadian ask me if U.S. currency comes out of the ATM. Uh, no it's only stocked with Euros. Are you that fucking stupid!?

Our store at 7pm had raked in nearly $250,000, and by the time I left at 9pm we had 65 bullseyes. Yeah, holy shit. Tomorrow it sucks even more because I cashier for 8.5 fucking hours and I'm going to hate every minute of it.

Fun Fun

I had so much fun training. I'm sure I sounded retarded though because as I was reading something, and I decided I didn't need to cover it, I just stopped. Kinda funny. I also saw some yawns as I was reading and I couldn't help but smile because it is really boring.

I just read through the book, went over pretty much everything possible...(Did you know there are 5 possibilities when it comes to taking a credit card?)... and then we grabbed 'difficult' items, went on break, then practiced and they got put on a lane. I don't know if it was my doing, but my trainees were doing great during practicing. It is pretty much straight forward, and our system walks you through every step. After practicing with the 'difficult' items for a while and seeing all possibilities of payment, I could tell they were ready. So I paired them up with some cashiers and I got to go home.

It was also funny because we were training on the middle lanes. We only use them for busy holiday shopping days, but still some people (mostly Canadians of course) came up and got in line for the lane. My trainees laughed every time I turned them away. But come on, the lane light is off, and there is 3 people on 1 lane. If they are working today I'm going to see how they are doing.

Which brings me to my next topic... The Canadians are here... In the thousands! Everywhere you look there is a Canadian. They piss and moan at just about everything. And they are wearing their little 'remembrance day' flowers so they stick out even more. I told Sara what they were for and she said, "What are they remembering?" And we both said at the same time, "How fucking stupid they are?" I laughed. It was word for word. Sara also continued, "How fucking ugly they are?" "How bad they smell?" Damn, she is a fucking hoot to work with. I highly recommend going to see the movie "Waiting" with Ryan Reynolds. It is fucking hilarious, and although they work at a restaurant, it is so similar to working retail. And if you do see it, the girl that always swears and is angry is the spitting image of Sara. When a few of my friends went to see it in the theatre, we could not stop laughing everytime she opened her mouth. It sounds exactly like her. There is this one part where the girl in the movie is in the kitchen and she is just screaming swear words as she walks out to the dining area, she turns the corner to help her customers and acts like the nicest person ever. It's so funny and a must own for people in retail and in restaurants.

I also found a running countdown for Black Friday. Here's the link: http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=111977

Well, I'm working all weekend so I'm sure I'll encounter some rude ass bitches.

Pissed Off

So I get to work yesterday, I go check my clip to see who I'm training. Nothing there. Ok, so I go check the break closet and Heidi and I were crossed out but Phyllis was training. I ask the head cashier and it got moved to today. That sucks because I was worried about training the whole fucking day and then when I get there they say nope tomorrow. So that kinda pissed me off. I'm not really worried anymore because I could care less. And because I know more about training than I did yesterday.

Well, the very first person I helped was the biggest bitch in the world. She was returning a box of that Choxie chocolate crap. Well, it was $12. I ask her how she paid for it and she said cash. Great. I then tell her she has to exchange it for 1 item in the Candy department for equal or greater value. She said, "Where is that written!? Where does it say I have to exchange it in the same department!?" I tell her it's not written anywhere, but it our policy without a receipt. She keeps asking where it is written and at that point I just snapped. I told her, "If you want to go by what is written, then I am going to need a receipt!" She says, "No, because I've been in here before without a receipt and they gave me cash back or a giftcard." I told her that was only if the item was under $10. Well, I was being extremely rude with her because she was being a bitch, and she asked for my supervisor. Gladly. Well, Rich comes up and he asks her how she paid for it. Guess what she said, "It's probably on my credit card." WHAT THE FUCK!? Had you said that the first time I asked you, we wouldn't be in this fucking mess! I was hoping it wouldn't show up on the card, but it did, and the bitch thought she was getting past policy and acted all high and mighty. I seriously want to kill her, or at least beat some sense into her. Looking back, I should have just said, "If you want to go by what is written, then I will need a receipt to do the return. Thank you, have a nice day. Can I help who's next?" If she said anything more, I should have said, "The employee that helped you previously was trying to help you out, I'm not trying because of your attitude. Until you can show me some respect, then you can either leave or wait for someone else to help you." One of these days that will be said. People were just all around pissy today.

I was crabby until someone applied for a Target card. She called in earlier and asked me if she was approved if she would get a temporary card that could be used right away. I told her yes, and hoped she came in tonight to apply for one. Well, about 30 minutes later she came in and I was delighted.

So today I'm scheduled 2-8 in GS, but I go to train at 6 and have to stay until we're done, like around 9 or so. I really don't care if I stay later, I don't have class tomorrow. It kinda sucks for Emily though because she's newer at GS, but still knows waht she's doing for the most part. There is going to be 3 trainers, me, Phyllis, and Amanda. Me and Amanda have never trained before so they are putting Phyllis in between us so if we have any questions we can ask her. I'm just worried about not doing things quickly enough and getting done after everyone else. Oh well, can't worry about it until it happens. Each trainer gets 3 trainees, and tonight they are all going to be cashiers, so they need detailed training. It should be a piece of cake, and I just hope to make it somewhat interesting so they will learn better.

I've been saying for quite some time now that this weekend will suck because Canadians have Friday off for Remembrance day. Last year was ungodly, and because the exchange rate sucks, they will be down here in boatloads. I'll get the grenades ready. LOL. I'm sure tonight and tomorrow will be really busy at GS, and we'll have to deal with assholes over 90 days because they don't get down here often and that's all my fault. Saturday and Sunday will be busy for the front lanes, and kinda busy at GS. I'm not looking forward to it at all. It also doesn't help that I work the whole weekend. Tonight: 2-~9 GS and training, Fri: 2-9 GS, Sat: 11:15-7:45 cashiering (ick), and Sun: 12-8 GS. So that leaves pretty much NO time to do anything school related. Fun fun fun.

Official BLACK FRIDAY Countdown: 15 Days!

Oh yeah, the schedule comes out today for the week of Thanksgiving. Should be interesting! That Sunday we start closing at 11pm. Ick!

Even More Training

My God, they are really getting their money's worth with me. Here I thought I was never going to cashier train because I'm the only one available to close GS on Wednesdays, but I guess I was wrong.

Tomorrow they have me cashier train from 6-9. I work GS from 4:30-close so Jackie is going to take over for me for those 3 hours. I'm gonna have to take my lunch beforehand, or else I won't be able to take one, and I'd get bitched out for that. This is my first time EVER cashier training and I know the material obviously, but going about it is what is making me nervous. We do have a binder, but I'm still nervous. I don't know how many people I'm training or anything. I'm sure I'll find out on Wednesday at the last minute like usual. That's what's making me nervous, not knowing anything. My store has bad communication.

I worked this past Saturday and Sunday and it wasn't fun. Saturday I closed GS, and NO, the ads weren't done. So I of course had to do them. I guess it was really busy on Friday with all the fucking Canucks storming down for their 3 day weekend. They get another one this weekend too! Kill me! Last year for their 'remembrance day' the store was fucking destroyed. I do believe the President came and declared it a national disaster. Thank GOD I don't close this weekend, but I do cashier on Saturday for 8.5 fucking hours! That's not going over too well either. I can't complain too much because I'm getting more shifts than anyone else at GS, but then again I am working 32 fucking hours a week when I asked for a max of 20. Funny thing is that I can still keep my grades up. I am just not looking forward to this weekend. I work Wed-Sun and my weekend was pretty much raped. I wake up, go to Target, and go to bed. I seriously have NO free time. Next weekend is going to be worse, I close Fri and Sat, and I think I cashier train on that Sun at 8am. Yeah, because getting up at 6:30am 4 days a week was too boring. (eyeroll) Maggie is cooking up the schedule today, and it should be out on Thursday, and that's the one with Thanksgiving and BLACK FRIDAY! Scary. I open though, so it should be fun. I almost want to ask if I can take pics of the rush in the morning. That would be too funny. Hopefully I'll get a lot of cards that morning. There is just so much going on everywhere right now. School is pushing it, Target is pushing it, and I can't wait for Christmas break. You need times where you can wake up and not worry about classes. I'm never worried about Target in the sense that once you're done for the day, you're done; there's no tests to study for or homework to do. I think I would go insane if I didn't have a job. Work takes my mind off school and that is a good thing most of the time. So now that I've been bouncing from topic to topic, I'll just end it.

More Training

On Wednesday I worked 4:30-close in Guest Service, and I trained in Blanka and Sarah. Blanka was only there for a little bit though, but Sarah was there the whole night, so she got a complete training.

Then yesterday (Thursday) I "buddy trained" Susan on the front lanes. I was scheduled 2-8:30 cashiering, but Susan got cashier trained on Wednesday, but said she still felt uncomfortable, so I buddy trained with her. Buddy training is where the newbie watches and asks any questions, and eventually do it themselves with the buddy trainer bagging for them and making sure the newbie is doing things correctly. It was better than just me cashiering though. Susan was doing really well.

The only thing was a Canadian (big surprise) woman who asked me if we took Canadian money. I told her we do, but only the paper money aka no coins. So Susan finishes the transaction, and it comes out to $62.17 Canadian funds or something like that. Well, the Canadian woman pulls out 3 $20s and starts digging in her coin purse. She pulls out a toonie/loonie (I don't know which is which or why they are named like that) and because Canada has $1 and $2 coins, that falls into the 'coin' category so we can't accept them. So I tell the woman this, and she asks, "Even for the 17 cents you can't take Canadian coins?" Uh, did you understand the fact where I said NO FUCKING COINS!? So I tell her no, and she freaks out saying "Well, you used to." No we never have! It has been SEVERAL years since our store exchanged money and yet everyone thinks we still can. The woman grumbled and pulled out a $5. Was that so hard? And the thing is was that she had to be a total bitch about it. I bet you are all sick of hearing me say this but why don't they fucking exchange their money BEFORE they come down? It's only fucking logical that a different country with a different currency is not going to take another country's currency. I want to yell this a thousand times even if I 'm the only one hearing it. Maybe I should write a fucking article to their paper explaining that before they come down they should exchange their money and while at the stores here, check the return policy! I would much rather have 10,000 people ask about it rather than one bitch about how it sucks.

I feel like getting into my whole Canadian spiel, but it's already on this blog 500 times. If you want to see how I feel, check the archives. I would love to just bitch (it's what I do best) about Canadians, but then the blog would just get repetitive.

Anyways, the papers are shuffling at the front end which can only mean one thing. Shift sign-up time for the busiest days of the year. They had sheets for Black Friday and that following Sat and Sun, Christmas Eve and the day after, and New Year's Eve/Day. Maggie didn't put me on those sheets because I will be in Guest Service. Whoop whoop! I signed up for coming in early day after Thanksgiving to get cards, opening/early the next day, and the only other day I signed up for is day after Xmas 8-4:30. I would stay all fucking day on Dec 26 if I could because it's such a rush. So many returns, so many assholes, so many arguments, and I'm mean back. it's not like I get get into a lot of trouble because hell, there are tons of people there. Of course I'm not going to be overly mean, but if you deserve it then so be it.

Tomorrow I work 3-close at GS, and I swear to God, those ads better be done. I will be so pissed if I have to do them. I have done them every single Friday that I have worked up there, and it's a Saturday chore. I just do it on Friday because it's usually busier then fuck on Saturdays.

Side note: One of my personal favorite websites is back. PlanetFeedback.com is where customers can post letters of complaints and compliments to businesses. I don't post any letters, but I sure do respond to them and give them an employee's perspective. Some of the people that write letters are just heartless. In fact, I just responded to a letter that said all Target employees were an "idiot, and a high school drop-out." Yeah, I kinda ripped into him, and I could already be banned from the site. Haha! These letters come from (mostly) people that think employees are garbage and think they can treat them as such. SOME complaints are legit, but most are just bitching because they didn't get their way. Check it out, and feel free to respond yourselves. It gets me worked up because I love arguing with people, it's my calling. Haha, well y'all have a good weekend. God knows I will...(Canadians have Monday AND Friday off) Kill me now!

It's November

How many more days until Black Friday? Ish, I don't even want to think about it.

Well, my Sunday shift was a doosie. EVERYONE was a crabass, it really sucked. There is only so much bitching out you can take in one day. It died around 5 pm so I didn't lose my entire sanity. I worked with Ashton and Heidi, so it was fun. I did about $3000 worth of returns on Sunday, and it's funny because our store only did about $5000 total.

There were some rude ass guests:
This lady comes up with about 4 clothing items. One had a receipt, 2 had gift receipts, and one didn't have a receipt at all. The item with a receipt was a blazer, and the tag was cut off. Now we haven't had blazers for too long at Target so I matched the tag with the tag inside the blazer. The woman freaked out on me saying, "Why are you doing that!? Do you think I'm trying to scam you!?" I told her no but she kept on going with it adding, "I can't believe you fucking people." Now normally I would have been so terribly rude to her, but for some reason I wanted to be overly nice to piss her off. So I do that return and then do the ones with the gift receipts. As you all know gift receipts give giftcards back as a return. She freaked out again because she wanted her card credited. So I told her with gift receipts it gives a giftcard back, and if she paid with a credit card, I could look up her receipt. So I did that. Then also I for her no receipt, I was starting to cringe because I didn't want her to freak out even more because of our No-receipt return policy, but thankfully the item was under $10 so I could just put it on the giftcard. She ended up leaving with a good attitude, and thanked me for my help.

Then there was this woman with this Back to College chair that was defective. She didn't have her receipt, or any packaging, but insisted she paid with her Target Visa. So I tell her that without any numbers for the chair, that I couldn't do anything because there is no way to get it into our system. We no longer carry the chair so there was no way to actually get numbers for it. She pitched a fit yelling at me asking if I kept the packaging for furniture that I bought a few months ago. Of course I don't but I don't expect the company to do anything for me when they NEED it. So I called up Roberta and that was a mistake because she is a total dumbfuck. Well, she ran off somewhere to get numbers and eventually she came back with a number, but it didn't find it on her card. So I don't know what they did but they had AP attempt to look it up, but they couldn't find anything. So she ended up taking her chair and going home, but she thanked us for trying to help her.

And it didn't happen this Sunday, but sometime this past weekend: Some Canadian was irate about something so the LOD (Rich) was talking to him and he called Rich a stupid fucking American. Funny thing is that Rich is Canadian. Haha! What a stupid fucking Canadian!

So it was fun working with Ashton and Heidi, and Ashton said that Heidi and I were her favorite GS people to work with. We were laughing pretty much the whole time except for helping the stupid guests. When Tara left, she always says, "Bye kids!" to GS, and I usually reply, "Bye mom!" Ashton thought that was the funniest thing ever and laughed for about 10 minutes. Sara, Heidi, and I have this inside joke running that we are the A-squad of GS (because we know what we are doing, and aren't lazy) and everyone else is the B-squad. I'm inventing the C-squad for Donna and Kari because they don't do SHIT. Ever.
