Training

Training was a joke. All we did was sit around, eat pizza, an dlook at the training books for 15 minutes. I still have no idea how I'm going to train cashiers because I've never done it before. Yeah, I'll read through the book, but if I don't know what's in there, how can I use it effectively? I doubt they will even have me train anyone.

My name wasn't even on the list to be a team trainer, but I repalced someone that couldn't do it. I've known for 2 weeks that I was a trainer and yet at the meeting they didn't know. Great communication, I know. Then they started telling us how proud we should be that we were hand picked to be trainers. Yeah, I definitely wasn't picked, but was only there because someone backed out. Nothing like an insult hidden in a compliment. Oh well, now it's my turn to impress the fuck outta them so that they think, "Jeez, we should have made them a team trainer sooner."

I also got my review last night. I'm now up to $8.30 and hour! That's great and all, but last year I got a 35 cent raise for not doing much, and this year I got another 35 cent raise and I have been going above and beyond with almost everything I do. It's pretty much impossible to get more than 35 cents per raise while you're at the front end. There is this whole thing where you get points for each task and at the end they all get added up to get your score. The best is Outstanding, followed by Excellent, Effective, Inconsistently Effective, and Unsatisfactory. Well, I scored Excellent in more than half of the categories, yet my overall score was in the Effective range. The only way to get an overall Excellent rating is to score Excellent in everything, and that's a bit unrealistic.

And I just my schedule for the 3rd week, and I have 32 fucking hours! That's a bit off from my max of 20 per week. I'm available 5 days a week, and that week I'm working all 5. And 2 of my shifts are cashiering. Uh, no we aren't starting this again. Of course the cashiering ones are 8.5 and 6.25 hrs while my GS ones are 6.5, 6, and 7. I think I'm going to pretty much demand to be ONLY at Guest Service from after Thanksgiving until January. None of this cashiering bullshit. Oh and the weekend in the 3rd week will be fucking busy because those fucking stupid piece of shit Canadians will be down here and last year the store was a complete MESS. And that's an understatement. Check the archives. The shoe department was trashed. More than half of the shoes were on the floor, and a TM that has been with the company for several years now said it has never looked that bad before. Sometimes murder should be legal. Haha, I'm just kidding. Don't go calling the feds on me.

I still think EVERYONE should have to work AT LEAST a year in retail. That way people would be considerate and the would know how to behave. It's sad that people don't know this, and that they are dealing with HUMANS and not pieces of shit, because that's what I get treated like sometimes. Well, I'm not the person to mess with in retail because I'm not afraid to 'fight' back. And I have my ways...

And now I'm off until Sunday because my friends and I are having a Target Halloween party, and I took the next few days off because I can.
