I had so much fun training. I'm sure I sounded retarded though because as I was reading something, and I decided I didn't need to cover it, I just stopped. Kinda funny. I also saw some yawns as I was reading and I couldn't help but smile because it is really boring.
I just read through the book, went over pretty much everything possible...(Did you know there are 5 possibilities when it comes to taking a credit card?)... and then we grabbed 'difficult' items, went on break, then practiced and they got put on a lane. I don't know if it was my doing, but my trainees were doing great during practicing. It is pretty much straight forward, and our system walks you through every step. After practicing with the 'difficult' items for a while and seeing all possibilities of payment, I could tell they were ready. So I paired them up with some cashiers and I got to go home.
It was also funny because we were training on the middle lanes. We only use them for busy holiday shopping days, but still some people (mostly Canadians of course) came up and got in line for the lane. My trainees laughed every time I turned them away. But come on, the lane light is off, and there is 3 people on 1 lane. If they are working today I'm going to see how they are doing.
Which brings me to my next topic... The Canadians are here... In the thousands! Everywhere you look there is a Canadian. They piss and moan at just about everything. And they are wearing their little 'remembrance day' flowers so they stick out even more. I told Sara what they were for and she said, "What are they remembering?" And we both said at the same time, "How fucking stupid they are?" I laughed. It was word for word. Sara also continued, "How fucking ugly they are?" "How bad they smell?" Damn, she is a fucking hoot to work with. I highly recommend going to see the movie "Waiting" with Ryan Reynolds. It is fucking hilarious, and although they work at a restaurant, it is so similar to working retail. And if you do see it, the girl that always swears and is angry is the spitting image of Sara. When a few of my friends went to see it in the theatre, we could not stop laughing everytime she opened her mouth. It sounds exactly like her. There is this one part where the girl in the movie is in the kitchen and she is just screaming swear words as she walks out to the dining area, she turns the corner to help her customers and acts like the nicest person ever. It's so funny and a must own for people in retail and in restaurants.
I also found a running countdown for Black Friday. Here's the link: http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=111977
Well, I'm working all weekend so I'm sure I'll encounter some rude ass bitches.
