Well, I had 3 days off in a row, so that helped some. Krista called me, and wanted me to work 2:30-7:30 instead of 4-9. For some reason, I feel like something bad is about to go down. I just have a fishy feeling about the whole thing.
Another thing that I've heard through the grapevine is that Lucy wants to get 8 more people in Guest Service. But, not just for breaks, for shifts! I guess Maggie told Heidi that she would only get 1 shift a week up there if that. And she's been there longer than anyone. My feelings are is that most of the people are the photo lab getting cross-trained in Guest Service, then why aren't we getting cross-trained over there? Because she is favoring some? I think so. I can't deal with have only one GS shift a week. No, you're not gonna take that away from me. They know we all love it up there, and Lucy doesn't care about anyone but herself. So, if they dwindle me down to one GS shift a week, I'll either quit, or go to a new department. I may want to go to Food Ave because they have an awesome Team Lead, and I would get away from the head cashiers and Lucy.
Which brings me to Lucy. She is such an awful person. She could care less about anyone other than 'her friends.' Her thinking is that if you aren't a suck-up or overachiever, you mean shit to her. She thinks it's fair to have everyone and their mother up at GS? When has Target ever played fair? Wouldn't it be more fair to have the people that have been there the longest to be in GS? It's almost a reward for being with the company so long. I also think that too many different people in GS will fuck up the all around policies. With a few number of employees, we can all get it right, and say the same thing. Having too many people will be too inconsistent, and that's not good for guests either. Well, if Target wants to fuck themselves down the river, by all means, go right ahead. Just don't fuck with my shifts.
Well, yet another day...
I've never really thought about it, but "Same Shit Different Day" really does apply to Target.

Day 6
What a horrible day. Everything was going wrong and then some. This will be a long post.
For starters, I pulled into a "close" spot in the parking lot. I don't think it was that close, as I've parked closer. Well, Shelley (the domestics TL) was walking in, and she saw me, and decided to take matters into her own hands. She walked next to my driver-side door, and I was still in the car. She stood in front of my door so I couldn't open it all the way. She told me to go re-park because the close spots were for guests. I told her I didn't care, but she kept screeching that I re-park. She said, "Seriously, move your car. This is supposed to be guest parking." Again I told her that I wasn't moving my car, and I told her to get out of my way. She then asked, "Don't your legs work?" I told her they do, and managed to slip past her. Then, I went inside and punched in. What a fucking psycho! The thing is that we both weren't punched in. Shit, if Target isn't paying me, I'll park wherever I damn well please. I'd gladly punch it, and go re-park if that is what they want. But for Shelley to be the Target parking police is very unprofessional. Why don't you worry about yourself? I'm not hurting anyone by parking closer so fuck off! If she really wanted to do something about it, she could have went to my supervisor, although that would have been pathetic. They can't make me do anything while I'm off the clock, so I will park wherever I fucking want to. This only was the beginning of my bad day.
Sharon left at 4:30, as you all know, but it was really fucking busy. Who in their right mind schedules 1 person on a Canadian holiday? I definitely needed at least 1 other person there. I have never pushed back-up more in one shift than I did yesterday. Most people were decent, except for this Canadian couple...
Well, they had things that didn't ring up correctly, and so I returned them, and rebought them on the same transaction. Well the difference was $9.61 or something similar. Because they used coupons, the system was suggesting $4 back in cash, and $5.61 back on their card. They started bitching that they wanted the amount all back on the card, and I told them this wasn't possible. Somehow the Canadian retard woman thought that if she went and got the coupons, and brought them up to guest service that I would be able to give the amount back onto her card. I told her it doesn't work that way, but away she went. She came back with her coupons, and I told her again, her having the coupons didn't matter. So, she wanted to return everything on her receipt (or "bill" as the retards say) and rebuy it back with the correct prices. Thinking about it now, I should have called back and checked the prices because they were Canadian. Well, I had Krista do a Fix It Fast, and changed the prices that way. The lady bitched, "Get the coupons!" I yelled back that I already did, and had her sign the box again. Well, after that she said she told me she wanted to pay cash for the transaction. She NEVER mentioned that while I was helping her. I told her she never told me that, and she said, "I told you I wanted to pay cash for these, so you're going to have to void that one too." I told her she never told me anything about paying cash. Then she had to argue about the different total. She was bitching that I didn't adjust the prices, and I told her the difference was from her old total to the new total. She finally decided to leave it on the card, and left. GO FUCKING HOME YOU STUPID FUCKING CANADIANS!!! They think they are hot shit just because they are from Canada. That's not something to be proud of. Especially when you act like self-centered brats. Go Fuck Yourself Canada!
Karen was being a bitch yet again today. Sharon got 4 cards from being in Guest Service, and Karen got one, and Krista got one. Well, they were rubbing it in my face. I told them I never got anything for the cards I got Thurs-Fri-Sat, and Karen told me "We weren't doing anything, sorry" in the bitchiest tone ever. God I fucking hate her!
Then, apparently I got a complaint from a guest because of my attitude. What the fuck ever. The guest didn't say who it was, but said they returned a pair of shorts. So Krista came over and asked me if I returned a pair of shorts. I told her that I've returned a lot of things today, and don't remember everything. I told her it was probably me because I was going as quick as possible because I had to sort 2 full carts, call departments, had 2 baskets of defectives, and had registry returns all over the floor, and helping all the guests. I would have had less of an attitude if I had someone working with me. So, that also made me more mad. I think it's pathetic to complain about someone's attitude unless it's really bad. I said Hi and Have a nice day to EVERY SINGLE guest, and I know that for sure. The only thing I could think of that I did that could be interpreted as rude is when I pushed some diapers on the floor, to make room for their returns. Whatever, I don't care anymore.
My lunch and last break were 30 minutes late also. It was an all around bad day. I didn't have to do defectives because Rob came and did them.
Before Sharon left, she said there couldn't be anything in the carts at the end of the night. I asked her, "So I have to stay up here and babysit the carts?" If people put shit at Guest Service, I have to put it away? No fucking way! So Krista told the salesfloor to bring up all their defectives at 9:30, and anything after that they had to put away themselves.
We were there until 11:15, and I had to zone the lanes. I didn't want to help the floor, so I took as long as possible. It sucked, and I hope to God I never have to work 6 days in a row again.

Day 5
It was still busy, but it wasn't that busy in Guest Service. For once, there was no really rude/stupid guests. We did have this one couple return over $600 of wedding gifts. It went relatively well because they had most of the gift receipts.
Well, I think that's about all the info for that day, but I'm just worried about today. Sharon works 8-4:30, and I work 2:30-11. So, from 4:30 on, I'm going to be by myself. I don't think it should be that bad (hopefully!) because I think the Canucks will start to head back later in the day. I also haven't closed on a Monday in at least 9 months. I hate doing the 'media.' I just hope I get all my breaks on time, and that I'll be able to take back defectives before the store closes. Here goes nothing!

Day 4
HOLY SHIT! It was so unbelievably busy because of all the Canadians. It hasn't been this busy since Christmas. It overshadows ANY other busy day since then. It's because of stupid Victoria day on Monday, so they get the day off. What better thing to do than fuck up the American stores?
Closing was awful. Every department was trashed, and had at least 2 carts of returns at the end of the night. People couldn't zone because whatever they did zone got trashed right after they did it. We stayed until 12:15 am and we still weren't done. We only finished the zones for all departments, and left the returns for the next day. Shoes was horrible! Another team member that has been working there for 4 years said she has never seen shoes so trashed. There was at least 20 pairs of shoes on the floor in every aisle, and even the ones on the shelf were messed up too. It was so bad. Everyone was cursing Canadians. Oh sure we've had busy weekends where there was little to no Canadians, but cleaning up afterwards NEVER was this bad. They don't respect anything down here. They think they are so damn special just because they took a 2 hour trip down. Whoop-de-fuckin-do! I've seen people from farther. And then, they want to try on almost every god damn piece of clothing in the whole store. Since when don't you fucking know your size? I can understand a few things, but they grab tons of shit to try on, and only decide on 1 or 2 things. The fitting room said they even got this woman that wanted to try on underwear. Yeah, NO! Check your fucking underwear for the size! It can't be too different! Because just think, what if they did allow you to try on underwear, if it didn't fit, we can't resell it because your nastiness was in it. And we shouldn't have to take a loss like that just because you are retarded.
I was a breaker yesterday, and there was only 4 breakers for all of the breaks. Yeah, that's almost smart. When I got there, breaks were so far behind.
Yesterday was definitely stressful. Today will be the same because the Canadians that don't go to the fitting room buy loads of clothing, and return stuff that doesn't fit the next day. That's what the fucking fitting room is for. I just might tell them that today. I work 12:30-8 in Guest Service. I was originally supposed to cashier, but I switched with Melissa. Thank God! It would also help if Target turned on the fucking air conditioner. It was so damn humid, that if you even tried to walk quickly, you broke out into a sweat. And because I was running around doing random shit, I was sweating a lot. Well, today will be fun...hopefully. People that were in GS yesterday said they got a lot of the 'but I'm from Canada' excuses. Bring 'em on, because I'm not going to show any fucking sympathy. Tomorrow I work 2:30-close in Guest Service, and Sharon leaves at 4:30. So I will be by myself from 4:30-close on the busy ass Monday. That's Grrr-eat!

Days 2 & 3
Day 2 was Thursday, 2:30-6:30 in Guest Service. Not much happened because it was only a 4 hour shift. However, I did manage to get someone to sign up for a Target card, so the head cashiers can get off my back. Now I won't be put on "the list" of people who didn't get a card that month. But, when I was entering the card in, the Guest Service phone started ringing. Because I was in the middle of something, I chose no to answer it. Well, this woman walked up to the phone, stood next to it, and asked me, "Isn't there someone who can answer this!? It's probably important!" I told her I would get to it when I could. She turned around and yelled, "JESUS CHRIST!" And she walked away. Me and the photo lab girl laughed at her after she left. Thanks for telling me how to do my job.
Day 3 was Friday, 10-4 cashiering. I was a breaker so it went well. When it came time for 11am breaks, there was a lunch in Food Ave, a break on the lanes, and another break at 11:15 on the lanes. So, I asked the head cashier if there was someone that knew Food Ave better than me, so I could do the other breaks. Well, they told me to do the break, and that "they would take care of the 2 breaks." So, I got done with the lunch at 11:45, and went to check to see what breaks were next. The 11 and 11:15 were still there. They did not "take care" of them. I was pissed because one break was 45 minutes late, and the other was 30 minutes late. So I crossed both breaks off, and sent one, and stayed on the other's lane. I took care of it. I apologized to the cashiers, and blamed it on the head cashiers.
Today is 2:30-close cashiering. Yuck! This is gonna suck some major ass.

Day 1 of 6
Oh God, that was only the first shift. Please kill me now.
Well, to no one's surprise, I was on the green side, but even better I was on lane 31. Fun fun fun. It was an express lane, so it wasn't too bad, but it was still the green side. People with full carts looked at me expecting me to say they could come into my lane, but nope I didn't say a word. I felt kinda bad when every other lane was full but I was standing out, oh hell who am I kidding, no I don't!
It was 10 minutes before I was done that I decided to clean up the carts on the green side. Well, Krista walks by and asks me what time I was done. Being me, I answer, "Not soon enough." She yelled my name, and I told her in 10 minutes. She sent me home. Hehe! I guess it's better than the corner. LOL
I saw Lucy today, and she avoided me, so even more proof I'm not working over in the photo lab. I'm still pissed, and I'm sure I'll get even more pissed when I find out who else is over there because it will be someone who doesn't deserve it. That's the way Target plays. they are also training people in Guest Service, which is fine and dandy, until they start getting shifts over there. Every hour spent on a newbie is one less hour for me to be up there.
Another thing that pisses me off is that I still get reamed out for not getting Target cards. Do they realize they always put me on an express lane or send me to do another job? Rarely is there anyone who even get close to $100 on an express lane. I'm not going to ask everyone, it's stupid. Yeah, do you wanna save 3 cents off that candy bar? Gimme a fucking break!
Day 2 is today, and I work 2:30 - 6:30 in Guest Service. And I have to train someone in too. I'll be the only person there for my whole shift to help train this person. They better pick it up quick. There is just so much shit to go through that it would be nice to have another GSTM up there so I could fully train without worrying about every guest.
I'll keep you posted.

Target Plays Dirty
I'm sure the title is no surprise to anyone, but I have been recently lied to by the ETL-GS, or the 'main' boss for the front end. I saw Lucy on Sunday, and I asked her if she got my note that I was interested in 1 hour photo. Well, she said she had already hired 5 people, but was still deciding on 6 employees to cross-train over there for breaks. The way she said it I knew it wasn't going to be me, she just rolled the words out of her mouth like a robot. I also know she doesn't like me, so that wasn't going to help. But, Lucy told one of my friends THEY would get cross-trained over there. Ok, now I'm pissed. I'm not saying I'm more deserving then my friend, but I'm mad that Lucy is telling everyone who she has picked when she told me she was still deciding. When I asked her, it sounded like she had already made up her mind. Thanks.
The *only* bad thing about me is that yes, I can have a bad attitude at times, but it doesn't come from thin air. Usually my bad attitude comes from the way these people treat me. Always on the green side? Yes, it pisses me off. Why wouldn't it? When I'm in Guest Service I have the best attitude because that is my favorite place to work, and I only complain about bad guests. I may have a bad attitude sometimes, but I make up for it with my work ethic. I bust my ass at work. I am one of the best cashiers (speedwise), and I rarely have to deal with head cashiers because I know my shit. I know multiple departments in the store and I pick up things easily. I've worked in these departments: Cashier, Guest Service, Food Ave, Operator, Electronics, and Salesfloor.
Now I'm interested to see who Lucy has picked. I would pick people that have been there the longest. My friend has been there longer than me, so I'm ok with them working over there. What will really piss me off is if some newbie gets to cross-train over there. That's just not fair. Only time will tell. When the newbies get picked, it makes me feel like shit because it basically means that they are doing a better job than me. It's also like getting picked last for a kickball team in school. It hurts. The last thing that made me feel good was getting to work in Guest Service. Even then I had to fight for it. That was also 1.5 years ago. Since then, I haven't had anyone offer any position elsewhere because of the job I was doing. As it sits now, I'm hurt by getting lied to. I still had my hopes up when Lucy told me she was still deciding, but they were smashed when my friend told me they got picked. I don't like getting lied to. Well, I work tomorrow, and there is still a chance for her to say I got picked too. Otherwise, they ain't seen nothing yet.
Now as for other things that have been pissing me off. I'm never a breaker. Never. I think I have been a breaker 2-3 times since the day after Thanksgiving. Why does it piss me off? Because they schedule newer cashiers that don't know other departments as breakers. So when it comes time for a Guest Service, Food Ave, or Operator break, they come get me off my lane to go do it. How about you put me as a fucking breaker? I'm getting so fucking sick of Target. So now I'm going to bitch that I should get to be a breaker because I know the areas for breaks. If not, they shouldn't ask me to do breaks if I'm on a lane. Hell yeah, I want to get off my lane, but if this is the only way they are gonna learn, then so be it.
I've also gotten majorly chewed out almost every single day for not getting a Target card. Like it's my fault. I ask everyone possible at GS (because that's where I have been when getting bitched out) but people say no to me. Heidi can ask the same person and they will say yes. I'm just easier to say no to, and that's not something I can control. I haven't got a Target card this month, and only got one last month. I'm trying my best, but I still get reamed out.
I'm never good enough. Never. Every little perk I get, they make me feel guilty about it as though I don't deserve it. Maybe it is time to just let this job go because I've NEVER felt like a team 'member.' At least I certainly am not treated as one.
Well, tomorrow I start 6 days in a row. Great, that is just what I need right now. They even called me today to work. Umm...FUCK NO! I don't care if I'm the only person you need, I'm not coming in. This weekend is gonna suck because it's a major Canadian holiday. Just fucking great. Now I can get treated like shit by management AND guests.
Tonight I'm volunteering with Target to clean up our adopted road. There is only going to be 3 level ones, and the rest are team leads or LODs. They better give me a volunteer shirt. I need a new Target shirt.
Well, have a better rest of the week than I will. I'm sure this blog will hear all about it.
Oh Wow
YES! We always get shitloads of those fucking worm balls, and none have their fucking numbers! I finally got fed up and so I made a barcode for them, and kept it in GS, and we can use that to defect them out instead of running to the lanes to get one with numbers. And they leave your hands feeling so damn gross.
Yesterday was CRAZY. I opened, and the next TM didn't come in until 11. Well, right around 10 things just got out of hand. I had to help a few people over the phone which took about 5 minutes each. One of our NEW printers was on the fritz, and so I needed to put an 'out of order' sign on it because people kept bitching it wouldn't print, all while there was 4-5 people in line. Yeah, it sucked. Towards the end of the day, I was getting SO close to freaking out on someone. I was standing next to a register looking the other way, and this lady came up, out her stuff down, and before I had a chance to turn around, I heard, "Yoo Hoo!" WTF!? I'm standing right fucking next to you, I was in the process of turning around. God I HATE when people do this!
There was also more shit, but I have to go back to the hellhole for another shift in GS. I'm sure it will be interesting.

Yesterday
Well, yesterday I was on lane 26. Surprise surprise. It was an express lane though, so that made it easier because people actually see that it is an express lane. Not everyone, but more than there used to be with the old signing.
I was on my lane for a total of 1.5 hours out of my 4.5 hours scheduled. Haha, oh well. Anyways, I could tell I pissed other cashiers off because I wasn't cashiering. Well, when they have been cashiering for over 2.5 years, then they can be mad at me. And it's not like I wasn't doing anything, I zoned cosmetics, and some of miniseasonal so the closers would get out of there sooner.
I also gave Alisha a break in Food Ave. I always get nervous because I have never been fully trained over there, especially on how to cook. It was around 8 though, so I didn't have to help anyone. I also hid in the back. Haha! Then I also gave Sara her break, and she took longer which was fine by me. But, there was this family who was returning an umbrella, an umbrella base, and a chair. So I did the return and whatnot, and later Sara calls me on my lane and asks what the chairs by the door are, I told her I'd be right down. Apparently they only brought 1 chair over to me to scan. WTF!? Who in their right mind would leave shit they want to return by the fucking doors!? The chairs were listed as a 4 pack, so I didn't shortchange them or anything, but they made no mention to me about the other chairs. Retards.
Well, I also got my schedule for the 3rd week, and combined with next week I will work 6 days in a row! AAAAAUGH! I work Wed-Thurs-Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon. Fuck! And the fucking Canadians have that Monday off, so of course they are going to be down in the thousands. I have never wanted a rifle so badly...Haha! And even better, I work 2:30-close CASHIERING on SATURDAY! Holy Fuck! That is going to suck! I'm prepping to be the biggest asshole ever. I hate the fucking 'I need separate orders', 'Why don't you take Canadian coins?', and 'Can I exchange money here?' NO! Go the fuck home and stay there. Augh! They are so fucking stupid! I've already come up with a asshole remark for their coins, "I'm sorry, there has to be presidents on coins before I take them." Haha! Oh I fucking hate cashiering, closing on Saturdays, and Canadians. All on them rolled into one, Yeehaw! Let's get this party started!
Then, they didn't schedule me the Saturday the 28th. I didn't even ask for it off! So I'll have that to look forward to. And don't think for one second I'm picking up a shift, unless it's Guest Service, in the morning, and is an emergency. We play by my rules on my days off.
I still haven't heard anything about me in 1 hour photo, but a lot of people seem interested. To the person who comments, Do you know the hours for the new 1 hr photo lab? Just wondering... Thanks.
Today it's 2-9 in GS, but I work with Angela, and that could go either way, sometimes it's ok, and other times it's not. Anyway, dealing with rude/stupid guests is always fun.
Have a good weekend!

Happy Birthday!
Yes, this blog is a year old! Damn, things have changed a lot since I've first started writing here.
First off, I'd like to thank all the people who read this and comment. It's nice to know I'm not talking to a wall. LOL
From what I hear, the post that is the best is "Most Memorable Guests" because that was pretty much all the stupid people I could remember from my time at Target. Check it out if you haven't already.
Well, everyone have a great summer and be sure to check back occasionally to see what is happening at the shitbin. Rude/stupid/funny guests can happen at any moment!
Thanks Again!

Remodel
Our 1 hour photo lab is getting remodeled this summer because Target stores are now going to own them. They used to be leased to Kodak. Well, there is a sign up by the TSC that if you were interested to let the ETL-GS or ETL-HR know. Neither was working the last day I worked, so I had Renae leave a note for Lucy saying I was interested. I would still Guest Service hours, but I don't know if employees are going to be over there all the time, like Food Ave, or just certain shifts, like GS. I'm just really sick of cashiering right now, so this might be a fun way to switch things up.
So, I was told the following info about the new 1 hr. photo lab:
It will be closed for about a month as they remodel it. We won't have the 1 hour service available, but we will still offer send-out. That will be handled by none other than Guest Service.
-Yet another thing to do on top of the million things we already do. They better schedule more people in GS because there is going to be a LOT of traffic with people returning/bitching and people getting pictures. After a while it should slow down some as people realize we don't have one hour for the time being.
It will expand to a bigger place, so all pictures and whatnot will be handled there aka no send-out, all in-house processing.
-All of us are wondering how the photo lab is going to expand because there isn't much room for it to move out and over without getting in the way of guests. We were thinking that they would move the Portrait Studio into what is now called 'the bank' and 1 hour could have the old portrait studio to do its business.
Since it will be all in-house processing, Renae said there would be 2 people scheduled over there at a time.
-I think this would be cool, especially if you are working with a friend.
I'm still wondering what the hours will be for this place. I would think they would expand the hours, but it still wouldn't be the same time the store closes. That way I could get out of there at a decent hour. And during Christmas!? Closing is the last thing anyone wants to do. I'm also wondering about the pay. I wonder if they'll keep the starting over there at $7 or if they'll raise it because it's a specialist kind of area. Who knows?
And the cons:
I don't want to give up Guest Service.
-The photo lab will have its own Team Lead, so the scheduling won't be done by the head cashier. I just hope I can still do GS because that is my favorite part of the job. Absolute favorite.
I have no experience with this.
-I wonder if any is needed because I learn things quickly, and I'm sure I can excel at this just like my other tasks.
As you can see, I'm totally excited about this. I'm such a Target nerd that things like this do excite me. I love remodels, and getting new stuff. I can't wait!
P.S. Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of this blog! Be sure to check back tomorrow!

Bored
I just remembered something that really pisses me off about customers. I've probably already said this before, but it won't kill you to hear it again. LOL
I hate when customers blame the cashier for them leaving the bags on the lane. Excuse me? I don't get paid to babysit your fucking bags. It's your shit, your responsibility. I can understand if the cashier put an item in a bag, and left the bag on the hangers. But, when the bags are on the end of our lane, in plain sight, why the fuck are we to blame? If I do notice it, and you are still within sight, I will run to get your bag to you.
Just recently, I was in Guest Service and this old hag came up and was bitching that 'the cashier forgot to give her a bag' AKA 'I'm too stupid to take my shit.' So, she was bitching up and down about how the cashier was responsible. The items were already put back as it had been an hour or two since they were left. There was vegetables in the bag that needed to be kept cold, so we sent them back. Well, I told her she could either get the cash back for the items, or go pick out the same things. Well, she bitched that I should go get her shit, and I maybe would have if I wasn't the only person up there. She also bitched that it was too far a walk to the other side, but that's the direction she came from. What the fuck!? So she just kept bitching until I finally asked her if she wanted to go get the items, or get the cash back. She bitched a little more, and finally decided to get the cash back. Then, she left. The cashier that 'forgot to give her the bag' came over and said that woman just bitched him out. Then we all shit-talked her and people like her.

Someone's Gotta Birthday Coming Up!
Not me, but this blog! Yeah! May 10, 2004 was my first post, and so this Tuesday will be it's 'birthday'.
Last summer lacked any sort of regular posting, but hopefully I'll be able to avoid that this year, and tell all 0 of you (haha) how my days went.
Start checking the archives to find what you think was one of the funniest situations I've been in. Be sure to make it back here on Tuesday and comment as to which one you selected. I'm expecting to see "comments: 0" at the bottom of my post on that day, so an actual comment would surprise me.
I picked up a shift tomorrow from 12-430 in Guest Service. I'll be done with one of my last tests around 9 am, so why not? But, I'm not going to stay any longer. We also get our schedules tomorrow. I'm anxious to see what they gave me because I'm finished for the semester this coming week, and the schedule is for the week after, and I gave them open-close availability everyday. So, after you read that run-on sentence you can think how dumb I am for doing that. While I'm available the whole day, every day, I'm not going to be surprised if I close almost every night. A few bitch-outs will fix that. Damn I'm evil. Haha, oh well, Target made me like this, so now they have to live with me.
Well, I suppose my next exam can't fail itself. KNOCK ON WOOD! I'm sure I'll do fine. Well, until next time...

Oh Jesus
Well, it was another horrible weekend at the shitbin. Fuckin' Canadians.
There was this one bitch in particular that really pissed me off. She came up with her family of 5340873084 kids, and put a toy on the counter. She tells me it's a gift, and I ask her if she paid for it. We only ask that because people think that if they say it was a gift, they can get in-store credit back. She said no, and so I told her TWICE that she had to exchange it for ONE item from toys that was 12.99 or greater. TWICE I told her. Well, time went by, and she comes up with FOUR little toys. I told her it could only be one item, and she went off. She insinuated that I never told her it had to be one item, and I totally called her out. She yells for a manager. Roberta comes up, and we explain the situation, and Roberta tells her that this was our policy, but also asks if she had paid for it. Then, the bitch pulls out her receipt, and I do it. WHAT THE FUCK!? Had you told me the truth in the first place, you wouldn't be in this position! Well, she was acting like she was hot shit because in her eyes she 'got around' the policy. She really fucking pissed me off, as you can probably tell.
That was the only major thing for me other than the fucking Canadians. They are so god damn full of themselves. They expect the fucking world from us just because they aren't from here. Go fucking home you fucking morons! There was this one woman who returned a pair of shoes, and then wanted me to give her a new receipt without the shoes on there. I told her we couldn't do that, and that the return receipt would show it was taken off. Well, this Canadian retard said, "Well they are not that smart at the border." She was referring to the Canadian officials because they have to pay duty and whatnot on their shit. I'm thinking, 'Duh! They are Canadian!' Even so, how stupid are you to not be able to explain a fucking return receipt?
Even my friends in Food Ave were sick of Canadians. Well, my friend was ringing up this woman and she wanted two medium drinks, and it came to like 2.27 or something like that. Well, this woman paid with a Canadian $5 bill, and got 1.something back because of the exchange rate. Well, her daughter came back up to the register and told him that he shortchanged her. He tells her no, that she paid with a Canadian 5, and got the right amount back. She kept bitching that her mom didn't pay with a Canadian 5, and asked her mom, and she said she didn't. My friend opened the register, pulled out the Canadian $5, and asked, "Then where did this come from?" They shut up, and didn't even apologize.
I've had something similar happen to me numerous times. They pay with a credit card, I run it through and give it back to them. They put it away, and finish doing whatever. Well, after the transaction is completed, they throw a big stink asking me if I gave them their card back. I tell them I did, and they (sometimes) yell back that no I didn't. So I tell them yes I did give it back, and so when they go through their shit, they find it. Rarely does anyone apologize. After being called a liar. Yeah it sucks.
Next time I work is Friday, 2:45-close cashiering. AUGH! That's gonna fucking suck. I'll keep you updated.

Random
Well, there hasn't been that much happening lately. Cashiering sucks still.
On Friday I worked GS and I closed. The only major thing I remember was that Becky (aka dike w/ Dawn) bitched me out because of an overflowing cart. She said, "If a cart is full like this, call the department, and replace it with an empty cart." Excuse me, but fuck you! I was the only one there, and that department came up when I called them the first 500 times, then they wouldn't have to worry about a fucking overflowing cart. I don't call departments for no fucking reason, when I call, I have a full cart for you. And yeah, maybe I would have got another cart if there was no one in the fucking store and I had nothing to do, but I was by myself and it was busy. Getting a new cart is the least of my worries, that's your god damn job.
Saturday I was on lane 24. It was so busy, but it went by kinda fast. I had a short shift, so after I went over to Food Ave and helped them ring people up for about 2-3 hours. It was fun, but damn a lot of people order drinks, and I definitely see how it gets annoying when you are trying to do something.
Someone also took my next Tuesday shift of 5-9:30 cashiering. Thank the fucking lord! I have multiple tests to study for, and working is the last of my concerns.
Next up is Thursday in GS 4-close. I wasn't supposed to work, but Maggie asked me, and I said yes. Stupid, huh? Then I work Friday 5-close cashiering, and oh boy will that be fun! Then on Saturday I work 2-9:30 in GS, and that should be fun. Weekends bring out the worst in people. Sunday I have off, and good thing because FAMILY GUY comes back! I'm so excited!
Watch it! Sunday 9pm eastern/8pm central on FOX.

That cunt was also fixed on being the exception, she told us that if she was a staff member of Target, she would be able to exchange it. We kept telling her no, but she wouldn't listen. If a team member were in this situation and bitching at me, I would have scolded them because they ought to know the return policy.
A friend also told me a story of another bitchy person that went through Heidi's (I sense a trend...haha) lane. Apparently something rang up "wrong" and the woman flipped out. She wanted Heidi to fix it right then and there, but Heidi told her she had to go to Guest Service. The woman bitched on and on about how she didn't have time for that, and insisted to see the ad. Heidi showed it to her, and the sale was for a completely different brand. But, the lady still insisted it was marked on sale, and scolded Heidi saying, "You scanned things too fast, so I couldn't check the prices as you rang them up. They should have older people ringing things up because they know how to do it." Heidi told her we DO get timed and we are expected to be quick on every transaction. The woman said, "I doubt it." Then Maggie walked by, and they just did a Fix It Fast, and the bitch was on her way. She shouldn't have gotten her way with an attitude like that. I don't care if you are right, there is no reason for you to treat me like shit.
It seems like Heidi and I attract all the bitchy people regardless of where we are in the store.
The same friend told me another story about Sara. Well, Kim T. And Shelly (Team Leads, mind you) were in Toys and Domestics respectively, but decided to help decorate the break room for the new "Can I help you find something?" plan. Stupid, but whatever. Apparently they spent 4 hours working on a sign. Yeah, 4 hours. So, Sara volunteered to do their returns. When she was done with those, Shelly told her to start on her pulls (shit from the backroom that needs to go on shelves) and Sara told her no. She, like everyone else in the store, is sick of the Team Leads not doing their fucking jobs. But of course Sara got bitched out because of her "attitude" and Sharon even said to her, "You should be lucky you still work here." If Sharon would have said that to me, I would have fucking punched her in her nuts. I already vowed that I would never help Nancy again because she is the worst. She walks around all fucking day, doesn't do a damn thing, and everyone HAS to help her at the end of the night. Well, not me. They can fucking fire me, I really don't give a shit anymore. I refuse to help her when she just pawns her shit off on us. So, basically she gets a paycheck for doing nothing, and instead we should get her pay because we do all the work. Well, that's the Team Leads for you. Fucking losers!
Well, tomorrow is 5-9:30 cashiering...Hip hip Hooray!...This is gonna suck!

Worst Guest EVER!
Ok, I have seen more than enough rude people since I've started working with Target. But just yesterday, I experienced one of the worst.
It all started when she came up to the desk. Heidi and I were working, but this lady came up to me. She had a defective digital camera (around $300) and wanted to exchange it. Well, she didn't have the box, so I told her to see if we carried the same thing in electronics. So she went over there, that's when I look at the receipt and see that it is well over our 90 day return policy. She had purchased it in November. So, it had almost been 3 months since the receipt expired. Well, she comes back with the same camera, and we tell her that her receipt is expired, an that we would have to process it as a no-receipt exchange. Due to the large value of the item, our computer system told us to call for authorization. Heidi pretty much dealt with her from then on, and I jumped in at necessary places. So, Heidi calls authorization, and explains the situation to them. She said that we have a guest here who has a defective camera and would like to exchange it for the exact same thing, but had an expired receipt. They told Heidi that since there was an expired receipt, that she wouldn't give her an authorization code. Heidi told this to the woman, and she flipped ass. She started pissing and moaning because "she was from Canada" and deserved to be an exception because she lived 3 hours away. And where she lives is only 2 hours away, I've been there. She screamed that Heidi should call them back and explain that she doesn't get down here often, and so she is an exception. She kept saying, "There's an exception to every rule." She just wouldn't shut up. Heidi and I told her she was not an exception because of where she lived, and there was nothing we could do for her. She had a year warranty through FUJI and would have to go through them to get her issue solved. She said she had already contacted Fuji and they said she would have to send the camera in at her own expense to get it fixed. Well, she wasn't having any of it. We also gave her a Guest Relations card with a number for her to call. She called it right then and there. But, since it was Saturday they were closed. So, we told her to call again on Monday, but she said she would be back in Canada then. We told her over and over again that she could call from Canada, but she insisted that she knew she would be an exception and would be able to exchange it and didn't want to have to come down here again on Monday. We told her even if they did allow it, they would not send you back to the store, but there was no chance in hell that they would allow it. By that time Heidi and I were getting so pissed off at her pig-headedness that we had Maggie come up and talk to her. Well, Maggie went through the same motions as Heidi, called for authorization, and again was told no. She said she wasn't taking no for an answer, and told us our options were to give her money back, or exchange the camera. We all told her this was not possible, as our computers would not allow it and that no one in the store would override it. She put on this shit story of how she works in the media up in Canada, and that there was always a way around what can be done. She also said when she gets back, she was going to write a article comparing Target's and Wal-mart's return policy, and "would make sure everyone knew how horrible Target is." Go right ahead you fucking cunt! She also mentioned that if she would have bought this camera in Canada, she would have a year to return it. Yeah right. And she also said that Wal-mart would take it back. Maggie told her that this wasn't Wal-mart or another store, she was in Target, and we have a policy to follow. Maggie even told her, "I'm sure you know how computers work right? Well, then you know how we can't bypass this screen unless they give us an authorization code, and they will not give me one." She kept yelling and whatnot so Maggie called the authorization center, and had the evil bitch talk to her. She was on the phone for the longest time arguing back and for what she had already said to us. Then, after that conversation, she started bitching how Target should pay for the shipping of the camera. We told her no, that it was her camera, and her responsibility. She also said she couldn't be without the camera for a few weeks. But, we found that funny because she kept telling us the camera was defective before the 90 days was up, and so she had already been without a working one for a few months. She also said that it stopped working before the 90 days was up, so she should still be covered in our return policy. We told her that is doesn't matter when the item went defective, but that you needed to bring it in within the 90 days in order for us to do anything. She eventually left, and she had been arguing with us for over an hour and a half.
Now you can see why we all hate Canadians. They think, 'Oh just because I live far away, that I'm an exception to the expiration date of the receipt.' Well, I used to live an hour an a half away from where I am now (NOT IN CANADA!) and we only made into Target at most 4 times a year. The thing is, if you had a $300 camera that was defective, why wouldn't you make a special trip for that amount of money? Don't assume that you will be able to get around policy just because you are a Canadian. If it were up to me, I would have stricter policies for the Canadians because most have the shittiest attitude ever. I hope that cunt does write an article because I'm going to keep a close watch on the media in that city, and I'd be more than happy to respond. If I find anything I'll keep you updated. My guess is that she won't write anything, but she just used it as a 'scare tactic' for us to give her what she wanted. I hope that bitch rots in Hell.
Maggie and I were talking after she left, and we only wished she would used swear words because then we could have had her kicked out of the store. We also told security to watch for her in case she came back.
We also heard another "but I'm from Canada" excuse, and we were all really sick of it. I don't give a shit where the fuck you are from, the policy still stands! Everytime I hear this excuse I cringe, and one of these days I will explode, and tell them that excuse doesn't mean shit. We have the same policy for everyone regardless of where you live. If you don't like it, tough shit! Stay out of Target then, do us all a favor!
We also heard "I got this for Christmas" a lot today. What the fuck!? It has been 4 months since Christmas, why are people still returning gifts? And some things we don't even carry anymore, so there was nothing we could do. Oh well.
Thank God I have today off. I don't work until Thursday, but I do need a break because of that cunt. Oh my fucking God, I'm sure I left out something, so when I remember it, I'll tell you.

Update
Well, it has been a few shifts since my last post, but there wasn't a whole lot of new stuff to report.
While cashiering on Wednesday, there was this one woman who came through my lane, and she said she had a $20 credit for the store. I ask her what she means, and she apparently returned something and "didn't get anything" from the employee. Riiiight. Well, she wanted me to give her a $20 discount because she didn't get anything. I told her, Target does not credit on file for guests. When someone makes a return, you either get cash, a giftcard, or a receipt that says your card has been credited. I think this lady was just clueless.
Then, on Friday I picked up a shift to train in Food Ave. I worked 5-9 and it was fun. It was pretty dead though, so we just goofed off the whole time.
I was in Guest Service on Saturday from 2-close. There was only one really stupid person. She wanted to return a shirt she bought a YEAR ago, but she still had her receipt. And she was PISSED that she couldn't! She thought that just because she had her receipt, that she should be able to return it. And the shirt wasn't in our system, so there was nothing we could do. She bitched and bitched and bitched. After telling her our return policy a few times, she finally got it and left.
Then on Sunday it was SO dead and boring. It felt like forever to finish a 6 hour cashiering shift. Then there was this one guy who said to his family while I was standing out, "Let's go to this lane, they are ready to serve us." AUGH! I hate the word 'serve'. It pisses me off. I don't 'serve' anyone.
Well, now I don't work until Friday. 4 days off in a row, must be a new record. Where are all of the commenters?

Tuesday, Tuesday
Well, it was extremely dead during most parts of the day on Tuesday. We did have rushes though. It constantly changed from very busy to very dead, and back again. We were short-staffed as usual for this time of year. Pisses me of, but that's another post.
Anyway, there was this one really rude woman. She wanted to return a pair of maternity pants. First off, there was no tags, so I sent her back to get the same thing, so I could have some numbers to use for the return. When she got back, I ask her how she paid for it, and she said with a check, so I tried looking up her receipt with that. No go. So then I tell her since the item is over $10, she has to exchange it for one item from the maternity department for equal or greater value. Well, she wasn't having any of it and was challenging every single word out of my mouth. "Why can't I get store credit?" Because it's our policy. "Why does it have to be in the same department?" Because it's our policy. "Why is it only 1 item? Why does it have to be equal or greater value?" Because it's our policy! As you can see I found her annoying rather quickly, and that she was holding up the line while I was the only one there. She then asked, if she exchanged it, could she get store credit since she would have a receipt. I told her no, because on the receipt it would say "no receipt indicated" and that the employees would know she would have to exchange it once again. She finally asked for a manger, and I was more than happy to get her out of my face. When the manager came up she argued back and forth with him too, only to get told the same thing. She went back and found something else, then exchanged, and left. Somehow, I think she'll be back to try to return it.
Today I work 3-7:45 cashiering, but hopefully it goes by quickly. Augh! I hate cashiering!

Canadian Spring Break: Day 5
Sunday sucked. Easter shit was 90% off, and I had this one woman fill up an entire cart with shit. It was only like $30 though.
I worked 12:45-7 cashiering. On lane 29. Oh yeah, it sucked. But the good news is all of the Canadians are going home! Woo Fucking Hoo! Damn get out the drinks! We survived!
The only major problem I had was that my computer froze while I was ringing up someone. The lady behind her had a full cart of shit, but it was already all on the belt. Hehe! She was SO pissed that she had to put everything back into her cart, and go to another lane. Yeah, please get mad at me because I crashed my own computer. The woman I was helping got pissed too because we had to rering everything she had. It was only 3 bags worth, but she saw it as an hour long process or something. It only took the same amount of time as it normally would've if I rang her up. Oh well, at least I got off 29 for a while.
Tomorrow I picked up Becky's shift (because she quit) in GS from 4-8. Not bad, although I don't think Phyllis will show up, so they will make me close. But, I can't so haha.
A lot of people are quitting the ol' shitbin. Gee, I wonder why? Oh, that's right because it sucks.
I should run an updated list of people in GS because a few have left, and some have transferred to a different department within our same store. Jackie has a shift in GS on Saturday, so we will see how that goes. She seems pretty fun to work with. I close with Melissa that night, so it shouldn't be that bad. Jesse is also leaving within the next 3 months or so, so another one bites the dust. Damn, pretty soon I'll be one of the oldest (aka person that's been there the longest) one there. Except for Sara and Heidi. Damn, I am a Target veteran. I could easily be the oldest (see explanation listed previously) cashier anyday. Hopefully by next fall, I'll be moving, and then I can get out of Target then, if not sooner. And I mean NEXT fall, as in not this fall. Yeah, it scares me too.
