Even More Training

My God, they are really getting their money's worth with me. Here I thought I was never going to cashier train because I'm the only one available to close GS on Wednesdays, but I guess I was wrong.

Tomorrow they have me cashier train from 6-9. I work GS from 4:30-close so Jackie is going to take over for me for those 3 hours. I'm gonna have to take my lunch beforehand, or else I won't be able to take one, and I'd get bitched out for that. This is my first time EVER cashier training and I know the material obviously, but going about it is what is making me nervous. We do have a binder, but I'm still nervous. I don't know how many people I'm training or anything. I'm sure I'll find out on Wednesday at the last minute like usual. That's what's making me nervous, not knowing anything. My store has bad communication.

I worked this past Saturday and Sunday and it wasn't fun. Saturday I closed GS, and NO, the ads weren't done. So I of course had to do them. I guess it was really busy on Friday with all the fucking Canucks storming down for their 3 day weekend. They get another one this weekend too! Kill me! Last year for their 'remembrance day' the store was fucking destroyed. I do believe the President came and declared it a national disaster. Thank GOD I don't close this weekend, but I do cashier on Saturday for 8.5 fucking hours! That's not going over too well either. I can't complain too much because I'm getting more shifts than anyone else at GS, but then again I am working 32 fucking hours a week when I asked for a max of 20. Funny thing is that I can still keep my grades up. I am just not looking forward to this weekend. I work Wed-Sun and my weekend was pretty much raped. I wake up, go to Target, and go to bed. I seriously have NO free time. Next weekend is going to be worse, I close Fri and Sat, and I think I cashier train on that Sun at 8am. Yeah, because getting up at 6:30am 4 days a week was too boring. (eyeroll) Maggie is cooking up the schedule today, and it should be out on Thursday, and that's the one with Thanksgiving and BLACK FRIDAY! Scary. I open though, so it should be fun. I almost want to ask if I can take pics of the rush in the morning. That would be too funny. Hopefully I'll get a lot of cards that morning. There is just so much going on everywhere right now. School is pushing it, Target is pushing it, and I can't wait for Christmas break. You need times where you can wake up and not worry about classes. I'm never worried about Target in the sense that once you're done for the day, you're done; there's no tests to study for or homework to do. I think I would go insane if I didn't have a job. Work takes my mind off school and that is a good thing most of the time. So now that I've been bouncing from topic to topic, I'll just end it.

More Training

On Wednesday I worked 4:30-close in Guest Service, and I trained in Blanka and Sarah. Blanka was only there for a little bit though, but Sarah was there the whole night, so she got a complete training.

Then yesterday (Thursday) I "buddy trained" Susan on the front lanes. I was scheduled 2-8:30 cashiering, but Susan got cashier trained on Wednesday, but said she still felt uncomfortable, so I buddy trained with her. Buddy training is where the newbie watches and asks any questions, and eventually do it themselves with the buddy trainer bagging for them and making sure the newbie is doing things correctly. It was better than just me cashiering though. Susan was doing really well.

The only thing was a Canadian (big surprise) woman who asked me if we took Canadian money. I told her we do, but only the paper money aka no coins. So Susan finishes the transaction, and it comes out to $62.17 Canadian funds or something like that. Well, the Canadian woman pulls out 3 $20s and starts digging in her coin purse. She pulls out a toonie/loonie (I don't know which is which or why they are named like that) and because Canada has $1 and $2 coins, that falls into the 'coin' category so we can't accept them. So I tell the woman this, and she asks, "Even for the 17 cents you can't take Canadian coins?" Uh, did you understand the fact where I said NO FUCKING COINS!? So I tell her no, and she freaks out saying "Well, you used to." No we never have! It has been SEVERAL years since our store exchanged money and yet everyone thinks we still can. The woman grumbled and pulled out a $5. Was that so hard? And the thing is was that she had to be a total bitch about it. I bet you are all sick of hearing me say this but why don't they fucking exchange their money BEFORE they come down? It's only fucking logical that a different country with a different currency is not going to take another country's currency. I want to yell this a thousand times even if I 'm the only one hearing it. Maybe I should write a fucking article to their paper explaining that before they come down they should exchange their money and while at the stores here, check the return policy! I would much rather have 10,000 people ask about it rather than one bitch about how it sucks.

I feel like getting into my whole Canadian spiel, but it's already on this blog 500 times. If you want to see how I feel, check the archives. I would love to just bitch (it's what I do best) about Canadians, but then the blog would just get repetitive.

Anyways, the papers are shuffling at the front end which can only mean one thing. Shift sign-up time for the busiest days of the year. They had sheets for Black Friday and that following Sat and Sun, Christmas Eve and the day after, and New Year's Eve/Day. Maggie didn't put me on those sheets because I will be in Guest Service. Whoop whoop! I signed up for coming in early day after Thanksgiving to get cards, opening/early the next day, and the only other day I signed up for is day after Xmas 8-4:30. I would stay all fucking day on Dec 26 if I could because it's such a rush. So many returns, so many assholes, so many arguments, and I'm mean back. it's not like I get get into a lot of trouble because hell, there are tons of people there. Of course I'm not going to be overly mean, but if you deserve it then so be it.

Tomorrow I work 3-close at GS, and I swear to God, those ads better be done. I will be so pissed if I have to do them. I have done them every single Friday that I have worked up there, and it's a Saturday chore. I just do it on Friday because it's usually busier then fuck on Saturdays.

Side note: One of my personal favorite websites is back. PlanetFeedback.com is where customers can post letters of complaints and compliments to businesses. I don't post any letters, but I sure do respond to them and give them an employee's perspective. Some of the people that write letters are just heartless. In fact, I just responded to a letter that said all Target employees were an "idiot, and a high school drop-out." Yeah, I kinda ripped into him, and I could already be banned from the site. Haha! These letters come from (mostly) people that think employees are garbage and think they can treat them as such. SOME complaints are legit, but most are just bitching because they didn't get their way. Check it out, and feel free to respond yourselves. It gets me worked up because I love arguing with people, it's my calling. Haha, well y'all have a good weekend. God knows I will...(Canadians have Monday AND Friday off) Kill me now!

It's November

How many more days until Black Friday? Ish, I don't even want to think about it.

Well, my Sunday shift was a doosie. EVERYONE was a crabass, it really sucked. There is only so much bitching out you can take in one day. It died around 5 pm so I didn't lose my entire sanity. I worked with Ashton and Heidi, so it was fun. I did about $3000 worth of returns on Sunday, and it's funny because our store only did about $5000 total.

There were some rude ass guests:
This lady comes up with about 4 clothing items. One had a receipt, 2 had gift receipts, and one didn't have a receipt at all. The item with a receipt was a blazer, and the tag was cut off. Now we haven't had blazers for too long at Target so I matched the tag with the tag inside the blazer. The woman freaked out on me saying, "Why are you doing that!? Do you think I'm trying to scam you!?" I told her no but she kept on going with it adding, "I can't believe you fucking people." Now normally I would have been so terribly rude to her, but for some reason I wanted to be overly nice to piss her off. So I do that return and then do the ones with the gift receipts. As you all know gift receipts give giftcards back as a return. She freaked out again because she wanted her card credited. So I told her with gift receipts it gives a giftcard back, and if she paid with a credit card, I could look up her receipt. So I did that. Then also I for her no receipt, I was starting to cringe because I didn't want her to freak out even more because of our No-receipt return policy, but thankfully the item was under $10 so I could just put it on the giftcard. She ended up leaving with a good attitude, and thanked me for my help.

Then there was this woman with this Back to College chair that was defective. She didn't have her receipt, or any packaging, but insisted she paid with her Target Visa. So I tell her that without any numbers for the chair, that I couldn't do anything because there is no way to get it into our system. We no longer carry the chair so there was no way to actually get numbers for it. She pitched a fit yelling at me asking if I kept the packaging for furniture that I bought a few months ago. Of course I don't but I don't expect the company to do anything for me when they NEED it. So I called up Roberta and that was a mistake because she is a total dumbfuck. Well, she ran off somewhere to get numbers and eventually she came back with a number, but it didn't find it on her card. So I don't know what they did but they had AP attempt to look it up, but they couldn't find anything. So she ended up taking her chair and going home, but she thanked us for trying to help her.

And it didn't happen this Sunday, but sometime this past weekend: Some Canadian was irate about something so the LOD (Rich) was talking to him and he called Rich a stupid fucking American. Funny thing is that Rich is Canadian. Haha! What a stupid fucking Canadian!

So it was fun working with Ashton and Heidi, and Ashton said that Heidi and I were her favorite GS people to work with. We were laughing pretty much the whole time except for helping the stupid guests. When Tara left, she always says, "Bye kids!" to GS, and I usually reply, "Bye mom!" Ashton thought that was the funniest thing ever and laughed for about 10 minutes. Sara, Heidi, and I have this inside joke running that we are the A-squad of GS (because we know what we are doing, and aren't lazy) and everyone else is the B-squad. I'm inventing the C-squad for Donna and Kari because they don't do SHIT. Ever.

Training

Training was a joke. All we did was sit around, eat pizza, an dlook at the training books for 15 minutes. I still have no idea how I'm going to train cashiers because I've never done it before. Yeah, I'll read through the book, but if I don't know what's in there, how can I use it effectively? I doubt they will even have me train anyone.

My name wasn't even on the list to be a team trainer, but I repalced someone that couldn't do it. I've known for 2 weeks that I was a trainer and yet at the meeting they didn't know. Great communication, I know. Then they started telling us how proud we should be that we were hand picked to be trainers. Yeah, I definitely wasn't picked, but was only there because someone backed out. Nothing like an insult hidden in a compliment. Oh well, now it's my turn to impress the fuck outta them so that they think, "Jeez, we should have made them a team trainer sooner."

I also got my review last night. I'm now up to $8.30 and hour! That's great and all, but last year I got a 35 cent raise for not doing much, and this year I got another 35 cent raise and I have been going above and beyond with almost everything I do. It's pretty much impossible to get more than 35 cents per raise while you're at the front end. There is this whole thing where you get points for each task and at the end they all get added up to get your score. The best is Outstanding, followed by Excellent, Effective, Inconsistently Effective, and Unsatisfactory. Well, I scored Excellent in more than half of the categories, yet my overall score was in the Effective range. The only way to get an overall Excellent rating is to score Excellent in everything, and that's a bit unrealistic.

And I just my schedule for the 3rd week, and I have 32 fucking hours! That's a bit off from my max of 20 per week. I'm available 5 days a week, and that week I'm working all 5. And 2 of my shifts are cashiering. Uh, no we aren't starting this again. Of course the cashiering ones are 8.5 and 6.25 hrs while my GS ones are 6.5, 6, and 7. I think I'm going to pretty much demand to be ONLY at Guest Service from after Thanksgiving until January. None of this cashiering bullshit. Oh and the weekend in the 3rd week will be fucking busy because those fucking stupid piece of shit Canadians will be down here and last year the store was a complete MESS. And that's an understatement. Check the archives. The shoe department was trashed. More than half of the shoes were on the floor, and a TM that has been with the company for several years now said it has never looked that bad before. Sometimes murder should be legal. Haha, I'm just kidding. Don't go calling the feds on me.

I still think EVERYONE should have to work AT LEAST a year in retail. That way people would be considerate and the would know how to behave. It's sad that people don't know this, and that they are dealing with HUMANS and not pieces of shit, because that's what I get treated like sometimes. Well, I'm not the person to mess with in retail because I'm not afraid to 'fight' back. And I have my ways...

And now I'm off until Sunday because my friends and I are having a Target Halloween party, and I took the next few days off because I can.

Update

So after further investigation, I guess Karen IS my head cashier. I don't know when the fuck THAT changed, but I do know that I don't like it.

I am training to be a team trainer tomorrow, so that should be fun. And some of my favorite people at Target are also training, so that's a plus. We better get pizza because they did last year. They are gonna have to get someone to cover for me at GS because I work 430-close up there and training is from 6-730. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. It will be fine, it's only training. Haha, anyways after I talked to Sharon about it I was just standing at my lane and she said, "You better practice standing out if you're going to be a team trainer." I laughed. I was fucking tired that day, and it was relatively dead on the blueside.

Well, that's just my random update, I'll be back later to tell y'alls how training went. It should be interesting.

My Town Is Flooded...

WITH CANADIANS! It's disgusting, and thank god I don't work tomorrow. But I work Sunday, cashiering. Eew.

So anyway, I get this rude Canadian bitch. She was returning 4 air filters, but had a receipt with only 2 on them. The receipt was technically expired because it said Expires on 10/14, but it's clearly the 21st. Well the system allowed it, so I do the return for the 2 on the receipt. I tell her how much she's getting back, and she freaks out on me saying, "There's 4 of them! You only scanned 2!" I tell her I have to do them separately, but she doesn't listen. Normally I'm a nice person even when someone is being rude to me, but this bitch had gone too far. I basically yelled back, "There is 2 on the receipt! I can only return 2 with the receipt and the others I will do separately." I then asked for her driver's license to do the other 2. And yeah, normally I would run these items on one transaction, but she was rude AND Canadian. So I did 2 separate transactions so the bitch only has 1 left until 10/21/06. Haha, it pays to be nice.

So yeah, when I got to work today NOTHING was done. Donna and Kari were both there. Defectives were overflowing, the defectives to do bin was full, and the garbages were overflowing. There is NO reason for that when there is 2 people working. Well, Donna left when I got there, and Kari didn't do a damn thing. In addition to all those things, I prepped the ad and wrote out the schedule for GS for the 3rd week. Again normally I would just shrug this off, but there was 2 people! 2 people for god sakes! So at the end of my shift I told Sharon. She said she'd make a mental note, but Sharon probably will talk to them about it, she's a bitch like that. Haha!

One of my friends found out that Karen did my review. Yeah, the same Karen who I hate and hates me right back. Just fucking great! I don't get it because Maggie is my assigned GSTL. She should do my review because that's where I've been putting my energy. I swear to God... Karen may be going home in a coffin if things don't go well. I haven't even worked with Karen in a LONG time, so why is my review done by her? Aw fuck, we'll just have to see how it goes. But I am upset.

Yet another facet of Guest Service that really bugs me in so many different ways - Waiting in line. Let's go:
-When you are waiting in line, get your shit ready!!!! Get your fucking receipts out! I swear I cannot tell you how many retards stand there rolling their eyes and sighing that it's taking so long, but when they get up to GS they take forever and a day to dig their fucking receipt out.
-There is a sign that says WAIT HERE. What do you do at this sign when I'm helping someone else? WAIT THERE! Too many people come and set their shit at the computer NEXT to me, and I make them move over to me. I also hate when the next person in line stands RIGHT BEHIND the person I'm helping. I swear to god, they could be giving a colonoscopy because they are so close. Christ people back the fuck off.
-Thank god we got rid of the numbers at GS. "Are you taking numbers?" I was about ready to shoot someone when they said that. Yeah, we are taking numbers when you're the only fucking one standing there. I also hated when people always told us our numbers are off. Yeah, it's because we don't fucking use them!
-With our new "stanchion" lines, (I am not sure if that's right or even close) there is an end that says Wait here, and the other end is just the pole. Well, I fucking hate when people stand at the exit. Can you not fucking read? People are stupid.
-Or the people that stand in front on the line. Someone get me a gun.

That's it for now, and I'm sure there is more that I'll think of later.

What Did I Get Myself Into?

So, one night after I was done at GS I was talking with Renae about some things. One was that if they wanted someone to come in before opening on the day after Thanksgiving to get Target cards, that I would do it. The other was stated previously in another post. Well, yesterday Tara came up to me and asked if I was still interested. I was taken aback because I was wondering how she knew about it. Well, the head cashiers had just had a meeting and they talked about it. Oh wow. I told her I still was and that was that. So therefore I think I will be getting there early to ask people standing outside. It should be fun, but damn I'm gonna need a flashlight because it will be fucking dark around 5:30 or so in the morning. Jeez, what if no one wants one? They will be pissed at me. I told Tara I wanted to be at GS that day too because I had to fucking cashier last year.

And to toot my own horn, I think they are gonna make me a team trainer! ...finally. Anyways, I was writing the schedules for each day at GS and I noticed some people had 'training' from 6-7:30. I was curious so I asked Sharon and Maggie about it and they said it was for cashier trainers. Then Maggie went off on a tangent about how Amanda couldn't do it, and they needed to get someone else. Maggie turned to Sharon and asked her if she thought I would be a good trainer. All right in front of me, mind you. Sharon said yes, and they ran it by Rich and he OKed it so I think I'm on my way to being a trainer. Score! That will look SEXcellent (haha) on my resume. And plus, I will definitely hammer home some things that cashiers do that piss us off at GS. Maggie said I'd have to hammer home about Target credit cards. Yeah, ok can do. All I have to do is tell them to ask everyone and I'm covered. BUT, the day the training is going is when I close GS. I always close GS on Wednesdays because I'm the only one available TO close on Wednesdays. Sharon said they would find someone to cover for me during the training time so I hope they can. I'm most excited about getting the new nametag that says 'Trainer' on the bottom of it. That way I could tell guests to suck it when they doubted me. "Yeah bitch, they made me a trainer, so I must know what I'm talking about." The only bad thing about the new nametag is that it doesn't have a hole for the bullseye pin. For those of you fellow TMs, the pin is dead. They don't make anymore, so therefore I want to keep mine so all the newbies know I've been there longer than they have and they can suck it. (Haha, I sense a theme.) I thought about making a hole for it, but with what? Anyone with any ideas will score major brownie points! (COMMENT NOW WITH IDEAS!!)

So anywho, I am on cloud fucking 9 with all this good news. After 3 years, they finally believe in me. Only took them 3 years. AND, my 3 year review is in like 3 weeks, so I should be getting a raise soon too. FUCK YEAH BITCHES! I'll tell y'alls how it goes when I get it.

So yeah, no big bitches today at work, it was just really busy. SO BUSY. And so many Canadians although they weren't bad today...at GS anyway. Tomorrow is 2-close and I'm supposed to be training in Emily which is cool because we've hung out before. Funny thing is that I'm only available to 7 on Sundays, and so closing kinda pisses me off because this of all weekends is when I have the most school work to do. Always works out that way. 8 more weeks of school left and I couldn't be happier. Halfway through October. November is almost here, then December, then finals week, then 1 month vacation from school. What can I say, this semester has been rough and I'm only half way through. Oh well, at least the light of the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.

One Week Later

A lot has happened over the last week at work, and it's starting to become more and more busy each weekend. Great!

Anyways, let's do the usual round-up of guests:

One lady wanted to return her mostly eaten birthday cake because it didn't have raspberry filling. Boo hoo! She was a fucking twat about it too. Ok, so you didn't get raspberry filling, but I definitely don't think she deserved a full refund. If I were her, I would've brought it up to the store's attention and at least expected a discount, but I would only take a full refund if they offered it. So basically she got a free birthday cake. Oh well, our policy says we can return food no matter what. It just pisses me off when we get people that return food JUST because they didn't like the way it tasted. And that's Target's problem? Taste is YOUR OWN personal opinion and usually there is nothing wrong with the food item itself. It's fucked up. I would never be so bold/stupid to return a bottle of fucking salad dressing just because I didn't like the taste. I'd throw it away and make a mental note.

When I was cashiering on Sunday (yeah it sucked), there was this Canadian woman with a full cart of groceries. Ask any cashier at my store, Canadians are the worst! So anyway, she unloads the cart and says she wants separate transactions. Separate transactions piss me off unless it's 2 or 3. The nutjob asked me a price on an item, I told her, and then she wanted it on a separate transaction. I ended up doing around 25 transactions for this bitch. I don't understand, she paid cash for every single fucking transaction. But they are only allowed so much over the border within a certain time period and then they have to pay duty, so they get separate transactions to cheat their government out of money. I was on the least busy lane and yet there was a line for my lane because of her. By the 10th transaction I was getting so god damn pissy especially when she kept saying, "Ok now ring those three up. These are for my mom." I really don't fucking care! I also hate when they come up to GS and ask for their receipt to be split. AKA separate transactions. Catch me in a bad mood and I'll tell them we don't do it. Technically we can, we would just have to return everything on their receipt and buy it back which is a lot of fucking work. Besides it's a Canadian, why should we? They suck! haha

Then there was this one guy who I swear ate paintchips. This happened when I worked Friday, and apparently he was in on Thursday and this is what happened, supposedly, then:
He returns a defective phone, and wants to get a different phone. The GSTM (Guest Service Team Member for you rookies) returned it and gave him a giftcard because his check didn't clear yet. So he took the giftcard, and bought another phone using the giftcard.
Friday=me working:
Guy comes in with the newer phone and says it's defective. So I do the return and the system tells me to refund it as ~$120 on the giftcard and ~$40 on his Visa. He freaks out saying he paid by check and that he wants his cash back. I told him that this phone was paid for with a giftcard and a credit card and that is all we could do. We refund back the way it was purchased. I also told him that when he decided to take the giftcard, that was it, the transaction was over, and we couldn't go back and get cash back for his check. He justed started saying that he was going to stop payment on his check and blah blah blah. I told him he really couldn't stop payment because it was paid for. It is stealing plain and simple. Well, he wouldn't go away so I called a manager and he backed me up. He also said that he could stop payment on his check but someone would go after him (like a collection agency) to get that money regardless if he left both the phone and the giftcard there. For whatever reason the manager told him to come back in 10 days (usual wait time for a check to clear) and then see if there is anything we can do for him. I knew right then there is nothing more we can do.
Just think about it, it had already gone through 3 transactions that we can't undo. 1 to return it, one to buy the new phone, and 1 to return the new phone. Once the giftcard is issued, it's not tied to the check anymore. It is it's own thing now. Once you use the giftcard, it's a different tender. Thank God I don't work on the day he's coming back in, but I work the day before. Hopefully he doesn't get antsy and come in early. (Crossing my fingers)

That wraps it up guestwise, but I also did some other things. I trained Marie Friday night in GS. Great, yet another person to take my hours up there. Oh well, I explained pretty much every situation at GS, but it would have been a HELL of a lot easier if we could have put one of the registers in training mode. Marie listened well, but obviously needs more practice. I also talked with Renae at he end of the night saying when they do decide to mass train at GS that it should be done on Sunday morning before the store opens. (We open at 12 on Sundays because of state laws. That's a dead giveaway where I am!) We could put all registers in training mode and have people come in at 9am or so and we could run through everything. I told Renae I'd be happy to do it. I also asked if I could come in early on the day after Thanksgiving so I could go outside and have people that are waiting apply for Target cards. Anything to boost my numbers!

My friend and I got into an all out rant about Target. Today's topic was paging. Our shit list:
-Guests that just walk right up to you while your helping someone and ask for a page. Dur! I'm helping someone retard! Unless you're giving out $1 million just to page, wait your turn!
EX) I seriously had one (Canadian, go figure) woman who walked right up and interrupted asking for a page. If it's an emergency then ok I will, but this wasn't. I told her I'd be right with her and she sighed and rolled her eyes. When I was finishing the transaction for the first guest I told her to have a nice day. The canuck rolled her eyes again. So I finally do the page for her. I should have kicked her lack of brains out.

-People that give just a first name. "Uh, can you page John?" Ok retard, there are probably a few Johns in the fucking store, can you be a little more specific!?
EX) There was this one lady (again a canuck) who wanted me to page her friend Peggy or whatever her name was. I asked what her last name was and the lady wouldn't tell me because she didn't want everyone in the store to know her last name. No one fucking knows you here! She told me to just page Peggy from Winnipeg. Stupidly I did it, but I won't do it again.

-Guests that want a person paged to a certain area.
EX) When I do pages, I say, "Attention Target guests, would ---- come to Guest Service, ------ to Guest Service, thank you." I don't alter that. AT ALL. So I usually have a few people who want the person paged to the front of the store... that's a big area genius! I only page to Guest Service and if you're friend/relative is too stupid to figure it out, that's not my problem!

-We don't do specialty pages.
EX) Nothing deviates from what I usually say. No, I'm not going to announce over the whole store that Barb, your husband is waiting for you in the car. I'll page her up to GS and then tell her. Or better yet, go tell her yourself.

-Multiple person pages.
EX) I hate doing them. I write down the names so I don't forget them. I actually had one woman tell me that the was an 'e' at the end when I wrote down Ann. DOES IT REALLY FUCKING MATTER WITH A PAGE!? I should have said, "Attention Target guests, would Ann with an E please come to GS." No because it doesn't fucking matter!

I'm sure I'll pick another facet of GS to bitch about in a later post otherwise I'd be here for weeks! I work tonight 4:30-close GS, so hopefully I'll fill my tank with more stupid idiots.

Nothing scares me, I work retail.

150th Post!

Wow! 150 posts. That's a lot for me. Damn.

Let's keep it going:

Deb came in from 5-9 on Saturday night so that helped some because it was busy. She hasn't been in GS for over a year, so I had to refresh her memory and tell her about things that have changed. It's kinda hard doing that because I'm so familiar with the current way of doing things and a lot has changed. Well, I still ended up finishing all of the Guest Service shit at 11pm, but I was kinda poking around because I didn't want to help the floor. I also did some stuff that technically didn't need to be done. What I did was clean the adboards in the front of the store because push pins were all up in them and there was dead bugs all over. So now I put all the push pins in the container, and just swept the bugs onto the floor for the cleaning crew to get. haha. We didn't end up leaving until 11:45pm because the store was a mess. And because Nancy and Kim were working. They don't do shit...ever. Nancy still had 3 carts of returns at 11:15 and wasn't even close to done zoning. And she's a fucking team lead that has been with Target for 25 years! Honestly, she should be the first one done. But, no she farms out all of her work onto the closers because she's too fucking lazy to do her job. It's total bullshit. And Kim needs to worry about herself. When she come up to GS she bitches when something doesn't belong in her cart. THEN PUT IT IN THE RIGHT CART! I'm not the only fucking person that puts shit away! I'm getting so fucking sick of her. I can understand if the item is continuously put in your cat, but when it happens once, let it fucking go. There is no need to freak out over little things.

We finally got our queue line at GS, but I don't know if I already told you. Oh well, you'll hear it again. Rich, the ETL-GS, lost the fucking sign that says "Line forms here." He then tried to blame it on GS, but I told him I never saw it at GS. Anywho, its only a line with one end that should have the sign and the other doesn't. Well because we don't have a sign, it's just a clear sign holder. But, stupid guests still formed 2 lines at each end of the line. So it was that much more difficult determining who was next. They better have that sign tonight, but probably not.

Sunday wasn't bad, but I had to work with Bridget. She is the most annoying person I know. Holy fucking god, her voice can cut tomatoes. I just wanted to tell her to shut the fuck up.

There was this one bitch though. She storms up to GS with an ad. Right away I knew this would suck. She pointed to the ad and said, "I want this, but there aren't any on the shelf. Why do you advertise anything when it's not in stock? I drove over an hour to come here! Do you know how much gas is these days!? This pisses me off!" I was just in shell-shock and couldn't say anything during her rant. So I was going to try to see if we had the item in the backroom, but the item she wanted was actually 2. So I said, "Which one do you want and..." She interrupted me, "What do you mean which one? It's not one item! That pisses me off even more!" Before I could say anything she stormed off. The thing is it just isn't OUR store's ad, it's every Target store's ad. So we can't cut that picture out of the ad if we don't have it. There are a lot of reasons why something may not be in stock, but it's out of the store's hands. All of our ordering is done through a computer by checking inventory levels. It doesn't involve anyone at the store level. Also, Target doesn't make the gas prices. Everyone had to pay for gas in order to come into the store, so bitching about it isn't getting you anywhere. You have a telephone, you could have called the store BEFORE you left to see if we had any and hold one for you. Some people.

Also, I absolutely HATE that DHL commercial where it asks 'whatever happened to customer service?' and it shows employees being rude to customers. Fuck that! Sure there are some "rude" employees, but it is because of CUSTOMERS that employees act this way. Shit, should I make a commercial that asks 'Whatever happened to good behavior, common sense, respect, etc.?' and show situations I've been in? This just adds fuel to the fire that employees are the bad guys and that customers are angels in everyway. That makes people treat employees like shit when they don't get their way because they assume we should bend over and take it in the ass just because *they* are shopping at our store. It's bullshit. Don't disrespect me because I will disrespect you right back. Employees are people too, and they shouldn't be treated as anything less.

Well, I'm sure to come across even more fun tonight at work. 4:30-close by myself as usual.

Been A While

Yeah, I haven't updated this in a while, but let's back into it.

The past few shifts have been funny. More about that later. Yesterday I cashiered for once and it wasn't that bad. I was a breaker, so that was good. It's always nice to talk to people you rarely get to when you're constantly at GS. Yesterday was not that busy, but it had spurts of people. Not as many Canadians as I thought, although they were still here.

Jared had a bitchy ass woman who argued with everything he said. And at the end of the transaction, she said, "Aren't you going to put my stuff in the cart!?" I would have said, "Not when you're being a total bitch. Have a nice day!"

Ok, here's a list of what I have had to deal with:

-This woman had a bunch of stuff on one receipt and another item on another receipt. So I did the return for the bunch of items. At the end I told her, "Ok, so you'll get $--.-- back for these items." She barked, "What about this item, don't forget about this one!" That's when I got fed up and pretty much yelled back and told her I need to do each one separately. I do explain it politely to guests, but this woman was just being rude.

-I also had this woman who brought in a pair of earrings and her receipt. No packaging or anything for the earrings, so they really could have been from anywhere. So I tell her she needs to bring the earrings over to Jewelry so they can verify that they are the ones on the receipt. Well, she throws a fit, and storms over to Jewelry. The jewelry TM verified them, and sent her back over. Well, I was busy helping another guest, so she went to the other GSTM. That's when the woman's friends came up and asked her what was taking so long. It had only been a minute or two. Well, the woman went off about how I wouldn't do the return, and that the earrings needed to be 'verified' in the most sarcastic tone ever. She also said the jewelry TM asked her why I sent her over to Jewelry. So she basically made it seem like I was being rude, and I didn't know what I was doing. I was standing 2 feet away from the GSTM and here she was talking about me like I wasn't there. I decided not to jump in and say anything because things would've gotten ugly. The other GSTM finished the return and she was on her way. I know the jewelry TM wouldn't have asked why I sent her over there because she used to work in GSA. Also, why would you walk into a store with just the earrings and receipt, and expect me to just give you your money back? They could have been earrings from ANYWHERE! I was so close to cracking a bat over her face.

-I had a guest who would not get off her cellphone. She comes up to Guest Service, and says one has a receipt and one doesn't. Well, I do the return for the one with a receipt first. Then her phone rings. She of course answers it and has this all out conversation with the person. I try to get her attention so I can tell her the no-receipt exchange policy. As soon as I start talking, she gives me this bitchy 'I'm on the phone' look. At this point I walked away from her and helped other guests. Well, another guest wanted to sign up for a RedCard so I was helping them with that, and the woman finished her phone call, and stood next to her stuff and started getting fidgety hinting that's she's ready. She was just gonna have to wait. Honestly, if you want to return something (or interact with another person in general), GET OFF YOUR CELL PHONE! It is very rude. Otherwise, take your stuff and go elsewhere until you finish your call. My new rule is that if you're on a cell phone, you're gonna get skipped.

-This woman comes up to GS with 2 wicker basket things. She has a receipt, but it's not the right one. She paid by cash, so no go on receipt lookup. Each basket was 11.99 so I explained the no receipt exchange policy, and she flipped. She was basically whining about having to get 2 items from Housewares, she wanted to get one. I told her she couldn't do this, and then asked for the manager. I call the LOD a few times, no one even answered so I called up the GSTL. She backed me up word for word, and that's when the lady really got mad. She started rambling about how she could return the items anywhere else, how she wouldn't shop at Target anymore, and this is how we lose customers. I had to stop myself from almost laughing. I think its funny when people make complete fools of themselves.

-We also had this one woman sign up for a Target Visa. Well, it was a mail response and it was explained to her that she didn't get 10% off that day. Of course she threw a fit saying she should've been approved and blah blah blah. Well, she went shopping and when she got up to the lanes, she told the cashier that she was supposed to get 10% off her total. The cashier called the GSTL and the GSTL told her again that she didn't get 10% off. Well, this lady walks over to me at GS and says so and so told her to come over to GS to get her 10% off. I figured that maybe someone was going to allow it. (I know now I will definitely check with the GSTL.) Well, the GSTL came over for a backup and heard what she said. The GSTL basically freaked on her saying it was a mail response and she wouldn't get 10% off. She walked away mad of course. Some people...

When I closed on Wednesday it was pretty much spotless at Guest Service. It was the end of the night and I was bored so I decided to fill the Club Wedd packets. Sharon walks by and I said, "I think I'm the only person that does this." And she said, "Yeah, I think you are too." At least someone knows I do almost everything up at Guest Service. It better show in my raise that they write THIS MONTH! WooHoo! It's almost here! Scary thing being at Target for 3 years... at least I get a "prize" this time. Sad thing is the prizes suck. Haha!

Well, I was told by one of my Target friends that Michelle called in sick today. Yeah. She was supposed to work 2-9 in Guest Service with me, but now I'll be by myself from 5-close on a FUCKING SATURDAY! So that means I'll have to wait to do binders, kiosks, and adboards until AFTER we close. I had to do it once and I wasn't done with my GS shit until 11...and we closed at 10. That night sucked. And I even had Sara with me that night until 9. Tonight is only gonna be worse. They better take back defectives before the last person leaves at 5 or I will be royally pissed. I've already decided that I'm going to leave after I'm done with my GSA shit if they don't find someone to cover Michelle's shift. She better be sick because if she's just blowing work off I will be pissed. Now they'll have to find someone to cover my break and lunch, and that could be difficult.

Well, today is off to a great start, and it'll only get better with rude-ass Canadians. Well, I'm not taking ANY shit today. No way. Today is not the day to bitch to me. I'm sure it will be a total blast.

Oh Jesus

Well, Sunday absolutely sucked! Every single person was rude, and I am not exaggerating. We got bitched out left and right all day.

I can only remember this one bitch. So she brings up earrings and her receipt. Not the packaging for the earrings, JUST the earrings. So, because the earrings could be from anywhere, I told her she needed to go to Jewelry so they can verify that they are ours. She asked if she could return them over there. I told her no, they would verify that they are ours, and send you back over. Well, she goes over there and gets the OK from Jewelry. Well, she comes back and goes to Ashton instead of me. Meanwhile her friends come up and ask her what's taking so long. The bitch starts spouting off about how I wouldn't return the earrings, and that they needed to be "verified" (in a sarcastic tone), and that the Jewelry girl asked why I sent her over there. She referred to me in the 3rd person as I was standing right next to Ashton. I was about to hit her over the face with a bat. She just made it seem like it was SUCH an inconvenience. I was about to jump in and tell her that we have no idea knowing that those earrings came from here, but I didn't want to start an all out argument. And there is NO WAY the Jewelry girl said "Why did they send you over here?" because she used to work in Guest Service and knows all the policies and stuff.

Whatever, it was people like that all fucking day, and I pretty much ran out of there when my shift was over.

Today I work 3-close in GS by myself, which isn't unusual. It sucks. I hope someone decent is working in the photo lab so I can talk to them. I was supposed to work at 4:30 but I guess they want me there at 3. I don't mind, it sure beats doing practice work for my classes. Then I work 2:30-7 in GS on Friday, and I have the weekend off. And I didn't even ask for it off. Score one for me!

Day of Absolute Hell

Holy fucking shit, it was SO GOD DAMN BUSY yesterday that it wasn't even funny. It was just person after person, and it rarely stopped. From about 12:30-4 we had a line at all times. And there was 2 of us. Ashton called in sick, but she was supposed to work 2:30-9 in GS. So, Amanda didn't have anyone there to help her close. I hope to God Ashton had a good reason or else I will be extremely pissed at her. She also better show up today or else I'm going to talk to the head cashier about not putting her over there. You can't just call in if you are GS unless you have a good reason because chances are they won't have anyone to cover the shift.

Yeah, so I work 12-5 today with hopefully Ashton 12-7, and Amanda 2-10. I have a slight inclination that it will be busy as fuck today too. Especially since Canadians buy, buy, buy one day, and return, return, return the next day. Again, don't buy it if you don't fucking want it. It's just that easy.

Well, yesterday Food Ave was a mess. We got 3 fucking busloads of Canadians in a fucking row! And they all go to Food Ave. Why? I have no fucking idea. There are so many better places to eat within walking distance. But the Canadians are SO FUCKING RUDE in Food Ave! I freaked out on a few. I was helping this older couple, and the computer crashed. Well, Amber was ringing someone up on the other till, so I waited until she was done. The woman said, "Uh, we want our food, we're on a bus." I told her I still had to ring her up. So I rang them up, and they asked, "When is it going to be ready?" I told them it would take a few minutes, and we would call them when it was ready. They say it in the rudest tone ever. Every single fucking Canadian asked, "When is it going to be ready?" I got sick of it quick, so I just started being rude. I had to repeat myself so many times. After the total and I gave them their change and told them we would call them when it was ready. I had one guy ask after I said we would call him up when it was ready, "Is there an order number you need to give me?" No! We will call you up by what you ordered when it is ready. "Do you need my name?" NO, WE WILL CALL YOU UP WHEN ITS READY!!!!!! Then there was this Canadian couple standing by where you pick up the food, after they just ordered thinking it was going to be ready right away, and Chris turned to them and said, "It will be a few minutes, you can go sit down." Haha! We were all being so rude because they were being rude to us. Tara told me the reason why they are so rude is because in Canada most of the fast food jobs are held by the homeless and whatnot. So they think because they are better than them , they can treat them like shit. I seriously want to chew out a few of them today. I want to help back-up in Food Ave so I can be rude to them. They never complain. Haha! I'm so evil.

Friday I worked with Sara in GS, and it was a blast. She told me a story about how she went shopping at Wal-mart at 12:30-1 am, and when she left there was a Canadian car parked next to her. She took the gum out of her mouth, and put it under the door handle. Haha! I seriously laughed for about 10 minutes after she told me this. Damn she is funny!

That night I did my whole spiel where at 9:30 I tell the departments to get their abandoned merchandise up to GS before 10, and not to bring up anything after 10. Well, it was a slow night, so everyone had a chance to bring up their shit. Well, at the end of the night Kyle, a TL in grocery, came up and said, "Why do even say that because no one listens?" I ignored him because I don't dignify slams against me with a response. The thing was that everyone did listen, and everything was up at GS before 10. He was just mad because he had a full cart. If you would've came to pick it up when I called you the first billion times, then you wouldn't have anything to bitch about. Well, Sharon also bitched me out saying I shouldn't tell them to not bring stuff up after 10. I told her I've got many compliments about what I say, but Sharon was just a bitch. Whatever. The only reason I started saying the spiel is because I called up departments and they bitched that I called them up there so often. So, I'm getting mixed messages. On one hand, you want GS to be fucking spotless with no returns in the cart, and on the other, you want me to accept abandoned after 10. You can't have fucking both! So it is officially the end to my 9:30 saying. If I hear one person bitch that they have to keep coming up to GS, I will flip.

Our store at 4:30 had ~$138,000 in sales already and our goal was $208,000. I definitely think we made the other $70,000 by the end of the night, if not way more. I ended up doing $2100 of returns, and it would have been more if I didn't open. My net sales was $-1500. I think that's funny, I'm not making Target money. Haha. Oh well, they have to have someone working returns. Our store made roughly $16,400 an hour, and how much of that was mine that hour...$7.95. If you're wondering where I'm pulling these numbers from, I printed out my report, and the stores before I left. It's always interesting to see. That $2100 worth of returns doesn't seem like much, but a majority of it was all $20-30 items. It was a lot of people. I'll try to print the info out for today too.

Well, I suppose I better get ready. I've been feeling sick the past couple of days, but not sick enough to just sit home and do nothing. And plus, I could get Canadians sick, and why should I miss out on that? Haha! I can't wait until they need a passport to get into our country...January 1, 2008. Far away, but at least it's something to look forward to. LOL

Boring

Wednesday night was pretty boring. It was really dead...really dead. Thank God I brought my notes to study so I had something to do.

Photo lab was dead too. People that dropped off for one hour, usually got it in 30 minutes or less. Jared was working over there, so he and I talked throughout the night.

There weren't any rude/funny guests. Everyone was decent, which is always nice.

We got sent home at 10:15 because it was so dead and everyone got their stuff done. I would LOVE more closes like this! I ended up leaving at 10:20 because I was still doing my GS shit.

Maggie told me she scheduled me to close on Saturday in the 3rd week because I'm sorta training a transfer in, and she said I was the "strongest" closer at GS. That's good to hear. I just wonder if the transfer has been trained at GS in her old store, or if it's gonna be a new thing.

It's kinda scary that now I have been up at GS the longest, when I can clearly remember being the newbie over there. The only people that have been over there longer than me are the head cashiers, and Kari and Donna (who used to be head cashiers), and Phyllis (who doesn't work that often). But yet I'm the person that knows the most over there. I can pretty much handle every situation that I can. Sure there are some times where you need a manager or whatnot, but every other instance I can handle. It's just funny that even the head cashiers ask me how to do things.

Today I cashier from 2:30-9:15. Ick. I better be a breaker because I cannot STAND being on a lane for a whole shift. I guess we'll see how it goes.

So Fun

Ok, so Heidi took Donna's shift on Saturday so she worked 8-3 and I worked 11-5. I love working with her. It makes time fly by, and we each hate people and don't put up with rudeness. Heidi could be more evil than I am. Haha!

There was this one woman who wanted an adjustment. Well, we need to have the actual receipt in our hands to do an adjustment. Well, she brings up the item she bought from the salesfloor. She didn't bring the actual one she bought, but the same thing from the floor. So we tell her she has to have her receipt. She wants us to look it up. Not possible for adjustments. She even told us to return it, and buy it back at the sale price. Nope, we can't do that. It is possible, but it's against our policy. So we again tell her we need her receipt, ans she tells us it's at home over an hour away. We tell her there's nothing we can do. That's when she yelled, "That's complete BULLSHIT!" And she walked away. As she was walking away, Heidi said, "Well that was rude!" The way she said it was hilarious. We both laughed at her after she left.

Nothing else funny happened that day. Sara was just talking to me and Heidi, and she said that Amber couldn't pronounce her last name, and thought that was impressive. Haha!

Well, I don't work until Wednesday, and I close GS, so unless something new develops, expect to hear something after that shift.

Not Fun

OK, so Wednesday was boring. I was by myself, but it was fucking dead. I was so bored, I fucking took to the registers a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. You don't realize how dirty something is until you clean it with a Magic Eraser. Invest, it works wonders. Well, Sharon gave me a great team card and a candy bar for cleaning. Whoop-de-doo. Well, it better show in my review.

Then yesterday I cashiered 2-6 and I was a breaker. Only I get 4 hour shifts as a breaker. Within the first 10 minutes, my back already hurt because the cash drawers on the lanes are so much lower than GS. So that was fun. Then at 6 when I was supposed to leave, Maggie asked me to give her her lunch and shit like that doesn't come by often so I agreed. I like the fact that she asked me because then hopefully she knows I can handle it.

There was only this one rude bitch while I was cashiering. We sell Jelly Belly jellybeans at my sotre, and it's a serve yourself kind of thing. Well, there was other things besides just jellybeans. So this woman comes up with 4 full ass bags of candy coated almonds or something. The bags were so fucking full that the zip lock on the top of the bag wouldn't shut. So I go to lift the bag up, and it burst open and went everywhere. The bitch blamed it on me. Uh, don't fill the bag so fucking full and then you won't have to worry about it spilling everywhere. Then she bitches how she doesn't want the ones that spilled. Well, no shit! She said, "I don't want the ones that spilled, people are going to eat these." No fucking shit!

And to the commenters that put random shit in their comment, don't. If I see any more comments with spam in them, I will delete them. Once again, thanks to those commenters that leave just comments.

Sunday

Sunday wasn't that bad although I was quite annoyed with Bridget. I mean, she says "I'm going to sort this cart." That really doesn't need an answer, but she keeps going, "Hello? Are you listening?" Yes, I fucking heard you, I just don't need to say OK to everything that you do. Just fucking do it!

Then there was this Canadian bitch that I argued with. Her friend came up and asked if we exchanged money. I tell her we don't, but she can use the paper money at the tills. Then she asks about Canadians checks. I tell her we can as long as they write 'payable in US funds' on the check. Well, the rude bitch butts in and asks about Canadian travelers checks. I tell her we can't because they aren't in US funds. I guess that was the wrong thing to say because she flies off the handle asking why we can't. I can't even get a word out because she won't shut up to listen to me. Then she walks over to the wall with our adjustment/holiday merchandise policies, and asked where it said she couldn't use them. I told her there was no sign, but she was already leaving. What the fuck? We don't take Canadians travelers checks because we are in the United fucking States. The only currency we HAVE to collect is US currency. No where does it say that one country has to take the currency of another. We take Canadian cash/checks as a COURTESY to Canadians. We sure as fuck don't have to. A lesson? Exchange your money BEFORE you go to another country, and if you can't, don't expect them to be able to take it. Jesus fucking Christ. Stupid idiots.

Some days I just want to argue with people. I love it. That's so mean to say, but I only argue with the people who cop a 'tude. Yeah, you're not going to get away with treating me like shit, sorry. And it's not like they can complain about me because they were being rude first, and my rudeness back is justifed to an extent.

The next time I work is tomorrow from 3-close at GS. Funny part is that Donna leaves at 3 and there is no other person. So, no other person + no overlap = crappy. I won't have a chance to bring back defectives so instead of have half a day's defectives to bring back at the end of the night, it will be a whole day's crap. Just fucking great. I'm sick of closing. At least I don't close for a week after Wednesday. It should be fun...right.

Absolutely FUMING

Oh my fucking God, that was one of the worst nights I've had in a long time. SO many things pissed me off today, so this will probably be a bit long.

Here goes: As for guests, there was only this one MAJOR bitch. Oh my fucking God. OK, so here's the back story. She wants to return 4 things: a comforter thing, a curtain, and 2 pillows. The prices for each was 40.49, 22.49, and 13.49 for each pillow. So before I even get there, she had come up to GS and they told her to get item for item for equal or greater value. OK, enter me. She comes back up and tells me she's exchanging. But she doesn't even take the shit out of her cart. So, I tell her to put them on the counter so I can scan them. (It only makes sense.) She gives me this fucking dirty look. I am done being nice to her. So I didn't know she was already up there and they told her what to get. The department number on the shit she has was for Hardware, but it was in Domestics. There is some kids bedding in Hardware and that's what I thought this was, so I tell them their exchanges have to be in Hardware. They both freak out (it was a couple) and Sara told me that the stuff was actually in Domestics. I can admit I was wrong. Then, they start making fun of me asking each other if they want to do the exchange over there, and they started laughing. They looked at me like I should be laughing, and I give them this straight face. It pissed me off. So, then I tell them they have to do item for item in Domestics for each price or greater. They already have some shit with them. Everything was fine except for the 40.49 item, they wanted a 19.99 and 29.99 item to cover it. Normally I would let this slide because I try to be nice, but these people were rude AND Canadian, so there was no fucking way. So I tell them that it HAS to be 1 item for 40.49 or greater from Domestics. They put on this shit story of how there was nothing there that they wanted. Too damn bad! They continue bitching about how they will have to pay more anyway, and I continue to tell them that it wasn't possible. They want to speak with someone else, and so I call for an LOD, but Tara (a GSTL) came up. She re-explained what I said, and they still bitched. I wish I could videotape these things because it's hard to remember everything that happened. Well, they bitched that they were Canadian and don't get down here often, and how they have never heard of such a return policy. Then, they wanted someone higher than Tara. SO we get Blake, the head fucking honcho of our store, and he again tells them that what we have said was correct and we had no way to override it. The woman says, "I want you to at least try." She says this the the fucking store manager! He got pissed, and told her that it wouldn't work no matter what. They still bitch about how they don't want the more expensive sheets because they will not match. Yet the cheaper ones were the same color. Uh-huh OK bitch. So they FINALLY decide to go with the more expensive sheets. So I do the exchange for that item. I do each one separately, like we are technically supposed to. I more so do it so we burn up all her returns without receipts for the year. Haha, oh darn. Well, she wanted a 12.99 item for the 13.49 item. As long as the guest is fine with losing the difference, we can change down the price. So I ask her if that's what she wants. She bitches about how we can change down a price, and not do 2 items for 1. I tell her I'm doing her a favor by changing the price down. Otherwise she would have to walk her ass back to Domestics and pick out an item for 13.49 or greater. I of course tell her this. She shuts up and I finish her shit. She also asked that if the stuff she got didn't match or whatever, if she could return it. We told her she would have to exchange it like she did within the 90 days. She then says she won't be back in 90 days. They just might be stuck with it if it clearanced out or whatever. DON'T BUY SHIT IF AREN'T GOING TO BE BACK TO RETURN IT WITHIN THE TIME FRAME!!!!!! They finally leave and Tara gave me a Great Team Card for 'sticking to policy.' I could've used a shot of hard liquor.

We got plenty of Canadians asking if we exchanged money. We never have. Then they ask where they can exchange it. I'm not a fucking tourism guide. I tell them at a bank, then they bitch that they are all closed. That's when I shrug my shoulders and give them my 'I don't give a shit' look. Catch me in a bad mood, and I will tell them to exchange it before they come down here. WHY doesn't that thought cross their minds? Oh yeah, because they are all slobbering idiots with the brainpower of a retarded screw.

That so far isn't even the beginning of this truly shitty day. Sara gives Tara her lunch at 6, and I think this is fine because I wanted my lunch at 6:30. Well, a little after 6:30 Sara calls me and tells me she's going on her lunch and then giving the operator her lunch. Great. So I went on lunch at 7:45, over 3 hours after I get there without a break or anything. So I get back at 8:15, and Sara has to give Tara her break. So, when she was done with that, I went on my last break at 8:45. Yeah, 30 minutes after I got back from my lunch. So I get back at 9 and that's when Sara leaves. I don't blame Sara for any of this, it just didn't work out for me. We couldn't do defectives, put ads in kiosks, or get the ad binders from the lanes. Now it would have to be done after closing. More on that later.

So at 9:30 I do my usual spiel where I tell everyone to bring up their abandoned before 10 so it can get out on the floor. Not even a breath after I finish, Kim gets on the walkie and says no one will do it because they are taking down the ad signs. Whatever. Then I say, there is full carts for so and so departments, and again Kim gets on the walkie and says no one will come get them because they are taking down ad. You really didn't need to cut me down over the walkie. That really pissed me off for the rest of the night and I wasn't being nice to anyone. Well, Natalie from the salesfloor comes up and jokingly says that I should know better than to call for returns on ad-takedown night. Wrong thing to say bitch. I don't give a shit if you are joking. So I told her, "Well, then I don't want anyone bitching that they have to keep coming up here to get returns."

So hell on earth aka the store finally closes. People just drop their shit off at GS. They just leave the cartfulls and throw other shit on the counters. I decided I wasn't going to bust my ass sorting it at that time and when they came up for their returns, they could do it themselves. I was only concerned about me at that point. So I get the ad binders from the lanes. I get back the carts are still there. I'm not touching them until I'm ready. So I bring back TIPS and defectives. On my way back, a SFTM asks what the carts were. I told her they were abandoned. Also, Nancy, the worthless TL that does nothing all night, comes and talks to me. She says she likes my spiel at the end of the night, but I shouldn't do it on Saturday nights. Spare me, I've already got bitched out once thank you very much. So when I finally get back up there, there was 2 carts of stuff, and shit ALL OVER the counter. My store is full of a bunch of lazy asses. If you have 2 things, get your ass back here and put it in the carts yourself. So I sort that and I don't call for people to get their shit. I don't really care at this point. So I go drop the ads off at the kiosks around the store. More shit to sort was waiting for me, as well as a half cart of defective stuff. It'll have to be done tomorrow, my computer is closed down. I put it all in the SDEF bin and hope the openers tomorrow will do it. So I start doing the ad binders for the lanes. We take out the old ad and put in the new one so each checklane has one. Well, Kim comes up and she bitches and bitches about how we at GS always put stuff in the wrong cart. She wants Roberta to come up with something so that we can 'get it right'. All within earshot of me. Kim wants us to scan each item with a PDT to see what aisle it's in, and then put it in the corresponding cart. This might work except for the fact that it's constantly fucking busy at Guest Service. Work a fucking month in GS to see how tough it is to keep up with everything. I bet you would be begging to go back to Toys. Fucking pigass. So after that, I put the binder back on their lanes, and go put the ad up in the entryways of the store. This takes some time because you have to thumbtack each fucking page in. I also cleaned the glass that covers it, which hasn't been cleaned since let's say 1954. I finally finish with everything GS related around 11:15. Yeah, holy shit. It has never taken me that long to finish GS EVER. It would've been a lot shorter if we did some of that ad shit before Sara left. We punched out at 11:30. We made almost $250,000 and how much will I see of it? Not even $50. Pathetic isn't it? That's why I can't wait until I'm in my actual career. I'll make more than these stupid people running this shitbin.

On a lighter note, Bridget is a moron. A guest asked if we had a "feeding room" where she could breastfeed her baby. The kicker? Bridget turns to Sara and asks her. UH NO! What the fuck!!? You fucking work here and don't know that we don't have a feeding room? DUMBASS! The real question is, why is the woman asking? Is there places with so-called feeding rooms?

I forgot, the other night a guy came up to GS looking for another exit. He wanted to sneak up behind his friend at the car, so he wanted to go out the TM door. I looked at him like he was retarded. I told him we have 2 guest doors and that's all that he could use. Idiot!

Then there was this woman who was yelling, "GUEST SERVICE! GUEST SERVICE!" as she was walking up from about 20 feet away. I also looked at her like she was retarded. Who does that!?

I also had a couple who wanted to know how to buy something with a registry. "When we buy it, will it automatically come off the registry or do we have to do something?" Do you listen to what comes out of your mouth? Do you actually think our computers can read your fucking mind and take what you are buying off some registry? Give the damn sheet to the cashier, and they will take it off you stupid list. This thought must be common because when people return gifts, they never have gift receipts.

And tomorrow I get to do it all over again. Fucking Bridget and Ashton open tomorrow. Great for me because they don't know what the fuck they are doing, and Bridget is just all around annoying. I don't think she can say know to people. Whenever she gets into a position where she has to say no to someone, she always passes it off onto others, to possibly take the blame away from her. I think she figures the guest won't argue with her but the person who told her no. You can't be like that at GS. You have to be firm or the guest will just try to intimidate you, and make you want to do it their way. The ball is always in the employees court, and it needs to stay there. Once you don't sound sure of yourself, guests will read into this and assume you don't know what you are doing. Sara said she was going to talk to Maggie about getting her out of GS. Haha! Sara and I were also pissed that Ashton never has to close and get every other weekend off. That's not fair at all. Not when I fucking close every fucking night I work. I may have to have a conversation myself about everything that's bugging me. Huh, it would take hours, if not days. I left a bunch of things to do for Ashton and Bridget if they have any down time. When I got there, the defectives weren't done and the SDEF bin wasn't done either. I don't know if they haven't been trained in properly or what, but oh my fucking God people. I don't care if anyone thinks I shouldn't be telling them what to do, get over it. I fucking carry GS, so I don't appreciate when people don't work as hard as I do. What pisses me off the most is when you're not doing something if you're not helping a guest. There is always something to do. Yes, there are definitely times where there is truly nothing to do and that's fine, but most of the time you can be doing other things. Especially when they should be done before I get there.

Ok, I'm getting to the point where I can barely type correctly and it took me about 2 hours to write this bitch. Yeah, it may say 12:24, but that's when I started it. It's 2:22 now and I'm ending it. Peace out!

Oh God

Yesterday sucked. I don't know what it was, it just didn't feel right.

I didn't have any all that bad guests. There was this one woman who just dropped her bag on the counter, and turned to talk with the person behind her. OK, I'm not a fucking robot. So, really loud I ask, "Is there anything wrong with it?" I just do it to make her stop talking. She turns around and says no, then goes back to talking. So then I'm done with the return and say she'll be getting so and so back in cash. I usually wait for approval from the guest because I have had some freak outs. Well, she keeps on blabbing so I just cash it out, and she hears my register open, THEN turns around. What a ho.

There are so many Canadians down this weekend and it really sucks. Every other person is asking if we exchange money. NO! But you can use is to make a purchase. After we explain that, they ask, "So we can't do a straight exchange?" WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST SAY!? NO!!!!!!! Jesus Christ, exchange your money BEFORE you come down here DUMBASS! Don't expect us to cater to your every need.

Some kids and the "security guard" a.k.a. AP for all you Target folk got into an argument. Well, one kid took a motorized cart, and so Danelle (that was her name) asked him if he really needed to be on it. Apparently his knee hurt. Yeah, ok whatever. So she told them that if the horsed around with it, she'd be back and tell them to get off it. Well, apparently some TMs saw them and they were running into stuff. That pissed her off, so she went and found them and told them to leave. Haha! I think that's hilarious.

I had some woman call me at GS to see if someone was registered at Target. Do you not have a computer!? So I check and they are registered, and then she asks how to get the list when she comes in. Duh, I dunno. I tell her to come up by GS, and the kiosks are right on the side. Then, look up who you want, and print it out.

So yeah, I get to close tonight too, and Sunday. So there goes my weekend. Sara was supposed to open today with Bridget, but she switched to 2-9 to help me. We were both relieved because we didn't want to work with Bridget. They were trying to get Bridget to work the 2-9, but she said she couldn't. THANK GOD. Now I get to work with Sara and this should be a fun night. The weekend bring out the worst in people, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of stories.

Oh My Fucking God!!!!

Well, I just realized that I graduated with a girl that is going to be on the newest season of America's Next Top Model. WHAT THE FUCK!? That is so fucking weird. And she's going to my friend's party tonight. I almost want to go just to say I've hung out with her. Haha! I'm so pathetic. She did use to work at Target as a cashier though, so I can say that I've worked with her. And she wanted to switch a shift with me way back when and gave me her phone number. I wonder if it still works though. I'm not going to try it. I'm not that pathetic.

She of course was one of the popular people, so she never really talked to me until after we were out of high school. I'm still in shell shock. That is so fucking weird. It's funny because I had another friend who graduated with someone that was on the Real World although I forget which one. I would have never watched this show before, but now I feel like I have to.

If you want to know who it is, leave me a comment and I'll leave a clue. (It'll give away where I live.)

I'm going to be a little gossiper and spread this around Target. This is just too fucking weird!

Back

It's been a week since I've last posted, but I'm in classes now and I'm really busy. But, I will still try to write here often.

So with my class schedule, I get tons of closing shifts...Great! My next shifts are all closing. Fun! Yeah, so that pisses me off. At least I'm more in Guest Service.

Which brings me to this Saturday. I work 4:30-close in GS, but Sara and Bridget work 8-4:30, and AShton works 11-5. Why the fuck is there 2 people there from 8-4:30!? And why does the last person leave at 5? On Saturdays, there needs to be AT LEAST 2 people there until 9pm. I'm going to talk to them about it, and push the back-up button more times than I need. And I probably won't have anyone to give me my breaks either. FUCK! They only do this to me too.

Karen was being the biggest bitch on Saturday. I was bagging for someone, I got bitched out for not doing bathrooms, helped Sara give a lunch in the photo lab - got bitched out for not helping with breaks when there was none to do, helped Sara with 2 carts of registry returns - got bitched out for not collecting hangers. Jesus fucking Christ woman! You don't need to do hangers at an exact time at night, but guest service needs to be spotless towards closing. I fucking hate her.

My next shift is Wednesday from 3-close in GS, and that should be a fucking blast. I'm going to ask what the fuck is up with the Saturday situation. Until then, stay classy!

Fun As Shit

Well, working the photo lab was fun as shit. I had a blast. It was pretty hectic up until about 4:30, then it just died. We had absolutely NOTHING to do.

Sara came over to the photo lab about 15 minutes after I went over there and she said, "I already want to fucking shoot myself." Haha! She absolutely HATES Bridget and Tyan. As do I. Sara and I are the only people over there that bust their ass to do a good job. No one else really cares. Bridget is a braindead dolt, and Tyan is a policy robot. Tyan has to say everything about everything she does, and I'm like, just take their receipt, ask if anything is wrong with it, and return it! There is no fucking need to talk them trhough everything. So irritating!

Well, summer is over and class starts tomorrow. Great. Ugh!

And it Has Started

Well, yesterday was dorm move-in for my university. And shit, our population jumps about 10,000. Needless to say, it was busier than fuck. Oh my fucking God, it was just me and Sara and we had a hard time keeping up. When I got there, Guest Service was a complete mess. There was shit all over the counters and carts of abandoned that needed to be sorted, and people kept dropping off abandoned items throughout the day. We were are sending back full carts too often. The good thing is we cleared it all up within an hour of me getting there. Maggie came up and was surprised that GS was so clean. I hope she attributed that to me being there. Sara and I busted our ass to get it cleaned.

But, certainly my favorite part of the day was that the gift registries were down until about 8pm. I have never been yelled at more times. So I was definitely an asshole for the rest of the day because everyone was so bitchy. Because of course it's my fault the registries were down nationwide, jeez I shouldn't do that anymore. (eyeroll) I wanted to say, "You can bitch all you want, but your not gonna get any closer to getting a registry, so save it." There were a few people that bitched because the wedding was the next day, and believe it or not you still can't get a registry, and no I can't look it up on my fucking computer. And even if I could, what don't you understand about that the registries are down!? There was this one woman just freaking out on me and Sara. Well, she walked away pissed, and Sara said, "It's not my fault!" The woman was by the carts and she heard her. Whoops! She yelled from where she was, "I know it's not your fault!" I burst out laughing.

8-4:30 GS today, and it's probably going to be a lot worse today. Stupid Canadians AND college kids. Oh, and we got out at 11:20 last night. Not bad considering how fucking busy it was, but still too late.

This is for all the people that bitched about the registries:

Last Two Days

Well shit, it seems like I've been working nonstop for the last 2 days. Monday sucked because I closed, but there was this funny lady.

So she has a boombox and no receipt because she got it as a gift. Great. So I tell her she has to exchange it for one item in Electronics for $24.99 or more. She of course freaks out and says she's moving and doesn't want to pack this item. She just wants a giftcard. Not possible. So I tell her the only thing I can do it what I've previously stated. She asks, "Is this a new policy?" I always laugh when they ask this because I get to say no. She asked for my 'supervisor' and the manager came up and totally backed me up, which was awesome. She of course bitched that she would never spend money at Target again and the whole typical pathetic spiel. We both laughed at her when she left.

And as for yesterday, it was just augh. It seemed like every person had a ordeal that lasted 5 minutes, adn it was pretty busy. On a Tuesday. WTF!? Well, there was this one person who got something as a gift that was sent to him from Target.com, and he didn't want it. All that he needed besides the item was the packing slip. Which of course he didn't have. It was about 30 minutes before he called his house and had someone read him the info on the packing slip. When he finally got that info, I was busy helping another guest, and so my co-worker plus the 2 head cashiers told him to wait for me because I know what to do. WHAT!? And the head cashiers get paid more than me, and yet they're my supervisors? Oh lordy, I swear if I left GS it would be an absolute mess.

Also, this Sunday I picked up Heidi's photo lab shift from 2-6. I'm excited, but I feel like I'm going to be annoying as fuck because I'll be asking tons of questions. Oh well, I don't really care. I'd rather know the answer then assuming I know it. I know how to do everything back there, it's just the guests questions that freak me out. And the thing is I already work on Sunday from 12-7 in GS, so from 2-6 I'll be at the photo lab. Heidi made Tyan pick up the 2-6 in GS where I won't be there. Funny thing is, Sara works that day too, so she will have to work with Bridgit and Tyan, probably the people she hates the most. I have a feeling she'll beat the shit outta me. Haha! I'll just tell her to come help us at the photo lab. I hate Bridgit because of her fucking voice. It makes my skin crawl. Damn she's annoying. And Tyan is, I swear, a Target robot. She is always so damn perky and upbeat and never complains.

Well, another 2 days off, and I'm going to enjoy it. Haha!

This Sucks

Well, I just had my last vacation of the summer. It was fun. So, I don't have much to update on Target.

I do, however, get to work today! Thank God! Heaven forbid I have one day of R&R when I come back from vacation. It's been SO busy I've heard. I also heard it was like Christmas yesterday morning when the doors opened. I would have shot myself if I saw that. And I've already heard that it's busy today too. Great because I close, ALWAYS do on Mondays. Well, at least it's my last closing Monday for a few months. As of next Monday, I'll be unavailable on Mondays. Haha! Who's gonna close GS now bitches!?!

And also next week I got a 2:30-close CASHIERING shift on a fucking Saturday. But not just any Saturday, probably one of the busiest weekends other than Christmastime. Oh shit.

Well, I get all of my buttons and whatnot from stickergiant.com. There's a bunch of funny stuff there.

More Dumb Guests

We just had a Canadian try to return a fucking Christams ornament! And she was pissed that we wouldn't return it for her. She had the receipt, but obviously it was expired. Well she kept bitching that we were taking her money and that this wasn't right, and she would do something about it. The fucking thing was $2! If you're not going to be back within the 90 days, don't fucking buy it! She can't tell me she doesn't know one person that came down with the 90 days. Holy fuck, and of course her excuse was that she was Canadian and how she doesn't get down here often. I don't fucking care! You and you're stupid ornament are not an exception!

Oh my god, we all got a good laugh after she left. We may have set a Target record with the latest a guest has tried to return a Christmas item.

Too Fucking Early

Well, I get to open today in GS. Yeah for me! Anyways, I'm already crabby because of the asses I helped yesterday.

Ok, so this woman comes up with a Larry the Cable Guy OPEN CD. She says it's so bad and was offended by it. I tell her that because of the FEDERAL COPYRIGHT LAW that she could only exchange it for the exact same thing. I realized she didn't want to do this, but that's all I'm available to do. So she freaks out, and tells me to just keep the CD, and as she was walking away, she tells me, "This has nothing to do with you, but if I bought this at Wal-mart, they would let me return it." And she walked away. Um, no they wouldn't you dumb bitch. I almost wanted to throw the CD at her and tell her to try it at Wal-mart. And if she was familar enough to buy the damn thing, she should know that he isn't the spitting image of politcal correctness. So, to make sure she couldn't get her CD if she came back, we threw it in the garbage and then threw the garbage in our compactor. Haha!

Then, some other bitch called GS, and was fuming at me because she couldn't get Target.com to work for her. Because I control Target.com. Uh-huh. Well, I try to help her and along the way she is just nasty on the phone. "Is there any way the store can order what I want so I can save on these damn shipping charges?" She wanted a changing table type thing. I tell her no, that the store doesn't do any special ordering. And before I could finish she snapped, "Well then how do you get the cribs and stuff that's shown in the Infants section?" I told her all of the big stuff like that is in our stockroom, and all she has to do is ask a TM, and we can go get one for her. Well, now she had to continue bitching about Target.com. So I go through the same motions as she tells me, and it's taking a while because I have to run back and forth from the kiosk to the phone, and I could tell she was getting irritated. Well finally I get to where she is, and it says the item will be available in 4-8 weeks and that's why she couldn't add it to her cart. I tell her that they probably didn't put the 'add to cart' button on there because they don't have it in stock, and don't want to keep customers waiting for something that might not even come in. Well of course this was the wrong answer, and she told me to give her the Target.com number so she could see if that really was the reason. Whatever bitch. Melissa and I were joking after that call saying I should have said this, "Ok, the number is 1-800(hang up)" Haha! That would be too funny. Just our luck she would call back. The thing is if there were an 'add to cart' button, she would get so pissed that it was taking forever that she would cancel the order and still bitch. It's a bitch-bitch situation. Some people just have to bitch about everything, even when you're doing them a fucking favor.

Then there was another woman that came up to GS with a vacuum. She wants to put it on layaway. I tell her we don't have layaway, and she gets all snappy, and asks, "When did that start!?" So being an ass to people that deserve it, I told her, "We never have." And she stormed off pissed. Oh well. I don't think Target ever did layaway, at least not during the almost 3 years that I've been there.

And people were just all around pissing me off, like:
-Setting their shit at the computer next to me when I'm clearly wide open at the one I'm standing at
-People holding their receipt while I need to scan it. I don't need to know where it is on the receipt to return it! -Interrupting me
And so they only have 3 people on for the whole day today at GS, and only 2 head cashiers. That will be interesting because it's probably going to be real fucking busy with back to school shopping and the fucking Canadians. Oh Christ! Well I better get going...

But before I do, here's the button of the day:

Button of the Day

If this doesn't cover it, I don't know what does.

Why can't we wear these again? Is it because it's so true?

Haha!

Still Here

Wow, it has been a while since I've posted, and I'm really not sure why I haven't. Too much happened since I've last posted so I'll try to go over the highlights.

Ok, so there was this rude couple. Well, they bought a swimsuit (2 pc.) and it rang up for more than it was listed on the tags. I told them I would change it, and as I was the guy went off on me saying that we were doing it intentionally. I told him no, that mistakes do happen, and all you need to do is bring it up to our attention. Well he was so fixed on it, and said he saw something on TV about a year ago that showed retailers intentionally marking up prices. Whatever. So I finish changing the prices, and since they wrote a check the same day, it offered them back a giftcard. The guy again went off on me saying he paid cash, and that's what he wants back. He also said that this was part of our scam. At this point I was very irritated, and ignored him, and called for the GSTL. I went and got his check out of the register, and when I came back the GSTL had fixed it, and gave them cash back. I don't know how, she didn't tell me. Well, I asked her if he was rude to her too, and of course he was. I almost freaked out on that guy, and I'm kinda wishing I did.

I dealt with this older woman the other day, and she wanted to return a fan. Well, right off the bat, she tells me that she bought it last summer. So I check to see if it was in our system, and surprisingly it was, so I tell her she has to exchange it for 1 item in hardware and blah blah blah. The old lady freaks out on me, grabs her fan, and storms out saying this is why she never shops at Target. Umm, you bought it a year ago, and still want us to do something? I could've turned her away at the point where she didn't have a receipt. People just don't realize we're trying to help them out.

Another woman came is with a few items and had a receipt for each, but they were VERY expired. So I tell her this and say I can still return the items, but they have been clearanced, and I could only give her that price. She also freaked out saying that she had her receipts. I told her we have a 90 day return policy and it shows when the receipt expires on the darn receipt. She plays dumb (I'm not sure if it was an act) and says no one told her. OPEN YOUR EYES AND READ!

But what really pissed me off was this incident. Shelley, the stupid domestics TL, came up to GS. It was 9:45 and I was behind the half-wall thing at Guest Service helping a TM get all of their returns into one cart. Well Shelley walks up to the counter, and starts going, "Psst, psst! Psst, psst!" I whip my head around the corner and told her, "I have a name." That is one of my biggest pet peeves. That is a rude way to get anyone's attention. Using my name, saying hello, or excuse me is fine, but making noises like I'm some barn animal is just plain rude. And this was the same TL who I've been calling the whole night to get her overflowing (understatement) cart of returns. And she didn't even take it with her then. And all she wanted was for me to defect something out. Leave it on the counter with a note, or put it in the SDEF bin. And yes, this is the same Team Lead who stood in front of my car one day because I "parked too close."

Well, I took this weekend off because we went to Canada to get trashed. It was really fun, but the US border patrol people are ASSHOLES! Oh well, it's also a "long" weekend in Canada, so of course they come down here. Our town is chock full of them. Ish.

And I don't have a cashier shift at all in the next 2 weeks, it's all GS! Woo hoo! I'm sure to load up on stories, especially because it's going to be back to school madness. Just fucking great!

I'm Back!

Wow! That was fun. It's nice to get out of the daily routine and go somewhere exciting.

Yep, we did some shopping, went to Estes Park (gorgeous!) and also went to Six Flags Elitch Gardens downtown, and also to WaterWorld. I'm still sunburned. It was the mid-nineties everyday with no humidity or bugs. I got to eat at heaven on Earth aka Sonic. Yum! I do love that place.

We saw so many Targets down there. It was interesting to go into them and see how they differed from ours. In one, the registry kiosks were 30 feet away from GS, and that would suck having to stop what you are doing and walk over there. My store the kiosks are only 5 feet away from GS. They were also in the middle of building a huge SuperTarget in Parker next to the interstate. I wonder if the regular Target in the town will shut down because it is only a few miles away. I guess I'll just have to see next year.

I was excited to get back on the way back, but now that I'm here I want to go back. Haha! I am excited to get back into the swing of things, but I'm sure that will change the moment I punch into work.

I have the day off today, but I get to work 6-close cashiering tomorrow. Is there a better 'welcome back' shift than that? Haha! Hopefully I'm I breaker or get to help in the photo lab.

Good thing is that I still have a paycheck to pick up from when we were gone. Score! Well I guess I better get my life back into work mode. Catch ya later!

Leaving

Well, tomorrow I'm going to Colorado for a week. Yes, it will be great not seeing several hundred Canadians.

In response to a previous comment, my friends and I are going to Castle Rock, Colorado. It's pretty much 10 miles south or so of Denver, but we are definitely hitting up WaterWorld, going to Estes Park, and going downtown. It should be fun.

I am in college, and I'm doing pre-pharmacy stuff right now, and hopefully in 2 years I'll be in the Pharmacy college. Yeah, I have a bit of school in front of me, but it'll be worth it when I finish.

Well, I'm not sure if I'll be able to update you during my trip, but I'll definitely give a run down when I get back. Everytime I seem to leave town for a week, when I come back there is always something new. Well, I hope everyone has a good week, and hopefully I will to. See ya in a week! ;-)

Jeez

Oh my fucking God, Monday was also SO slow. At 5, I went over to help the photo lab because they were way behind...again. I only had to hop over to Guest Service to help about 15 guests total. Then, at about 9:15 I just stayed at GS to do all the closing shit, and that only took me 15 minutes. Thank God I got to work in the photo lab, or else I would have been doing NOTHING. There was literally nothing to do in GS except stand there.

The photo lab needs crazy help. They are getting into a rut, and it's not going to be easy to get out of. When they get backed up, the say no more 1 hour processing, and that pisses people off. Then, if they decide to do it for next day, the pictures are rarely done by the time they come in the next day. They are not building a good customer base. They should have at least 2 people on at all times, and 3 during peak hours. I wouldn't even worry about hours because hours won't matter down the line if you don't have any damn customers.

I also had to help out the photo lab on Tuesday. I just processed film. it's the only thing I can do really well with confidence that I'm not fucking up pictures.

Wednesday I cashiered 8-12:30 on (big surprise) lane 30. It wasn't so bad because it was early in the day. I still can't fucking stand it though. And I even got a Visa. Haha. That brings me up to 4 this month I believe, and that's fucking excellent for me, and it's only the 7th. I got 12 total in June, and that also bewildered me. Most of them came from me being in GS, and people coming up and asking to apply. Oh darn, too bad they still count.

Well today I have a day off, so I'm going to enjoy the Hades-like weather. 88 degrees today...wow!

Tomorrow I took part of Karen's shift in GS so now I work 12-8:30 in GS. Hopefully I get to help the photo lab again. That is the best thing because I don't have to deal with their guests. I let them do that. I just process away, and they try to catch up. Haha, well I better get going.

I'll try to update this blog after tomorrow shift because I'll be going to Colorado for a week and a half, so don't cry, I will be back. Haha, just kidding. Well, have fun doing whatever it is you do.

SO Slow

Oh my god, it was SO boring yesterday. Normally we need 2-3 people on Sundays, but they could have gotten away with having a call button up there. There was barely anyone shopping. I was at Guest Service, and I just folded boxes for the photo lab. They are always so behind over there. They really need to pick up the pace or else people will slowly stop going there. It doesn't help that they do all the processing there. The Next Day service is really what fucks them up, they just keep getting those, so they try to process them, and then one guest can fuck it all up when they bring in 5+ rolls. Just last night someone turned in 12 rolls for Next Day after the photo lab was closed, so they couldn't even process them. The machine capacity is 10-12 rolls an hour, so that already takes up an hour that needed to get done doing others. Oh well. I think the photo lab should have 2 printing machines with at least 3 people working, then they could handle the traffic that our store gets.

Well, anyway today is the 4th, and it's TIME AND A HALF! I'll be making almost $12 an hour. Awesome! The only downside is it is probably going to be even more dead because everyone is out and about, and people will think we close early. When people asked how late we were open today, and I told them 10, it looked like they were shocked. It will be EXTREMELY boring tonight especially in the evening. And of course I'm by myself after 4:30, so I will have no one to talk to. Hopefully someone good is working in the photo lab, and I can help them out.

Well, Happy B-Day America, and everyone have a safe and happy 4th!

Augh!!!!!

Well, it's a 4 day Canadian weekend...yup, just great! My God, why don't you fucking spend Canada Day in Canada!? They have Monday off too, so they can piss all over our holiday. Christ.

Well, it has been quite interesting as of lately in Guest Service. I guess there is a fucking sign at the door that says please treat employees like shit. The one sign that they actually DO read. So many crabasses.

Today there was just a guy who got some XM satellite radio doohickey, and wanted to return it. Well, his receipt was expired and because it was over $75 we couldn't do anything without a valid receipt. He just kept bitching that he lived out of town, and blah blah blah...Guess what? We don't fucking care! You had 90 god damn days to return it, and don't think you can just mosy on in afterwards and get the world from us. It just isn't gonna happen. Shit, I should start stapling receipts to their asses, maybe then they would give a fuck.

Canadians galore. I swear, it looked like a bomb went off in our store. It was a mess. They are so fucking inconsiderate. Let's take a pair of shoes off the shelf, try them on, and leave them on the floor because my fat ass is too lazy to bend over and pick them up. Multiply that by 5 billion, and you'll get what our shoe department looked like. It always seems to happen on Canadian holidays too. Hmm...connection? I can't believe how sloppy these people are. I honestly want to see their homes. Then tear the shit out of them.

Maggie was talking about how she thought I was in a dry spot with me getting Target cards err..."REDcards." Except for the fact that I got 12 in June alone. Knowing me, that is fucking excellent. Considering I only got twelve TOTAL for Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr-May, 12 alone for June is pretty fucking awesome. And I got 2 today. It's SO much easier to get cards at Guest Service. Most of the time, people just come up and ask to apply. EASY CARD, and it gets the head cashier off my fucking back.

Well, I wasn't supposed to work tomorrow, but I took Sara's shift because I have no life. And it's only 11-5, not bad at all. So, it should be fun. Especially dealing with the Canadians that don't know how to use a fitting room. I swear they buy 12453474 pieces of clothing, go to their hotel, try them on, and return almost all of them because they didn't fit. TRY THEM ON HERE! Fuckin' idiots!

Well, I better go get my asshole sleep, it'll come in handy tomorrow. ;)
